It is without a doubt a must win game for the team and Golden. He has preached "win the coastal" all along. We are sitting at 0-1 in ACC with Clemson to follow. Pitt, UNC and Duke who all are undefeated in conference to do not play FSU or Clemson. With that being said, we could run the table in the Coastal and still not get in to the ACCCG due to the 2 losses from the crossover games in Atlantic (assuming we lose to Clemson). Losing the VT game puts the entire season on the line for Golden's goals. (I know that running the table is unlikely) but this scenario just hit me. Will be interesting to see how the team reacts post FSU if we face any adversity in the VT game as we know that what it's been in the past. The players have to know that they are playing for Al's future on Saturday.

Go hokies! i cant see fat Al another season here. I wont be able to stomach it.

This is probably the easiest game left on the schedule. If we don't win then things will go south fast.

VT is a hungry team that's starting to play well after recovering from the loss of their starting QB. Plus, they have the anger from last year's beat down by us. This is not a good formula for Al Golden. i would agree with your last statement....this is the game that could decide Al Golden's future. Lose this one and the season likely completely falls apart. Win it and they at least live to fight next week against Clemson.

Fck lame goals. Fck the Coastal. I hope Flubberneck stuffs Folden in his neck pouch and dumps him in a wood chipper on his way back to Blackturd.

If this is a must win for Golden than it is a must lose for program. Al had got to go. I will not root against Canes but it would be better they lose every game than win the rest if it means Al stays. There was one advantage to him being kept last year -- Donna did NOT get to pick the next loser. Now, maybe just maybe a mistake will be made and BOT will pick a real coach. It would accidental but who cares. One decent coach and we are back. I trust in Golden. We will continue to lose.

Golden is 2-2 career against VT.

The two wins did not lead to anything close to a coastal victory.

If we win, it might be the last win of the year.

The chances of this team winning more than 6 game is 0%.

Got my borrowed VT shirt ready. Wearing it tonight, in public, just to watch my VT friends' jaws drop.

If I remember correctly....we ran all over them last year and Kayaa basically did nothing aside from a slick little pass to Duke in the red zone

Does anyone actually think that we can do the same this year?

VT may be terrible...but we're even more terribler. Or something.

At this point, what does winning the coastal even mean?

We get the privilege of getting smoked by Clemson twice instead of once?

This team will get pounded at home against Clemson and on the road against UNC and Duke.

Golden's all out of chances. He hasn't beat a team here that has ended the season ranked. That's all you need to know. VT is garbage on offense and we will still struggle with them.

I need it to stop, enough hearing that this is a huge game. This is the week, blah, blah, blah. So what he beats VT, it doesn't change the garbage he's put on the field the last 5 years.

We're going to win this game, but it won't matter. We won't beat Clemson or Duke. The ACC season will be over after those losses. It will be interesting to see how everyone (outside of this site of realists) reacts after we win this meaningless game.
