Magical Dining Month during UM vs UF Game

Their food is so good, I swear 7-bites is putting weed in the cooking oil.

Go Canes

PS: for those that don't get the reference, it's to the movie "The Trap", featuring TI and Mike Epps.

SevenBites is soooo good. Have you fellas been to their new joint Sette yet?? Drive by all the time, but haven’t made it there yet.

Been multiple times. It’s real good. Somewhat limited menu, but what’s on there is always good

I'll help out.

I won't mention the good chains on the list (Ruth's Chris, Fogo de Chao, etc.), if you want to hit those, that's fine.

"Convention Area" = International Drive
Del Friscos and Everglades are excellent. I have not been to Mango's, but the current location was designed by an alum of the UM School of Architecture.

"Disney/Lake Buena Vista" = primarily Disney Springs
Just went to Jaleo (Jose Andres' new place) and it was amazing. I took 2 of my UK colleagues, and we tried to get into Morimoto Asia first, but it was a 90 minute wait, so make a reservation 24 hours in advance if you want to do this one. Enzo's Hideaway and Maria & Enzo's are excellent (the Hideaway is downstairs, literally in an old Disney access tunnel).

Downtown - this will be very close to where you will likely go for parking/shuttle to the stadium.
Artisan's Table has been good (I have not been to the new location on Church Street yet). The Boheme is amazing, as always, and Reyes Mezcaleria is a new Mexican place on the north end of Orange Avenue. K and Rusteak are both amazing, but they are located in College Park (northwest of downtown, on the other side of I4). Maxines and Soco are excellent, they are more to the east of downtown (Thornton Park). Bites and Bubbles is good, but it's located in Mills-50 (northeast of downtown, other side of Colonial Drive).

"Restaurant Row" = Sand Lake Road area. Other side of I4 from International Drive, and close to Universal.
Urbain 40 is the obvious choice here, but Pharmacy is the unusual one, it's a speakeasy.

Universal/CityWalk
Not a lot of choices, but Kitchen is solid, it's in the Hard Rock Hotel, downstairs by the pool.

Winter Park - north of downtown
The Ravenous Pig is my personal favorite in the entire bunch. Antonios, Luma, and Prato are all great.

Surrounding areas - probably too far to go
If you want to make the effort, 1921 in Mount Dora is amazing. Chroma in Lake Nona is also very solid, I've been there multiple times.

Best restaurant for lunch on Loews/Universal is Amatista at Sapphire Falls and if you want one of the best rum bars in Orlando Strong Water is also inSapphire Falls. CityWalk just opened Big Fire (Old emerills location) if you are looking for a new concept and bourbon/whiskeys. It’s about 3 weeks old

Urbain has kind of gotten lost since a lot of the business came from winter Garden and Windermere residents and with the expansion of those areas Dr Phillips area is losing some people for eating. But Urbain is awesome, food is exceptional, used to work with old GM and owner of place. Excellent suggestion

If you are staying on International Drive a few other places to consider

Vincenzo’s- really good Italian food, owned by a Italian family, right by the ORLANDO EYE or ORLANDO 360 whatever they are calling the big wheel these days

Jacks at Rosen Plaza- if you want a place thats got really good food this is a great steakhouse to try. Itskind of gotten lost because of Del friscos and Capital Grill bit of some of those players are booked this is a good option. I wouldn’t recommend the Magical dining but if you plan on going let me know and I can get you a pretty good discount (I don’t work here just know GM). Every time I’ve gone it’s not busy unless conference is in town but service and food is good

If you’re staying at Four Seasons Ravello is $$$$

Slate on Sand Lake is really good but reservations are sometimes challenging

All good suggestions. For this thread, I was trying to stick to the ones that are doing Magical Dining Month, but there are a ****-ton of great places.

A lot of people don't realize that Orlando is the second-best restaurant city in the State of Florida.

I don't know about that....

Try the Black Rock Bar and Grill in Windermere... where you cook your own steak & seafood on hot rock at your own table..

Lauderdale...and Cap'n Andersons in Panama City Bch curb stomps all seafood rests that I've been to...Tampa is as good as well..

Nope. Wrong. Lauderdale is 3rd, and Tampa is probably 5th, behind West Palm. After Bern's, Tampa drops off considerably, and I've been to many, many places in Tampa. Panama City? Come on, one good spot doesn't outweigh the hundreds of great spots in Orlando.

You have to leave downtown every once in a while. There's a ton of good spots you've missed.
