Madre London

He's firm to Michigan St per Chris Nee.

Don't think the staff was ever seriously interested in London.

Firm until the school he really wants offers like any kid. Don't know if that's Miami or not but just saying. We need more RB depth for sure but I guess Al and Co. passed on him for some reason.

Probably because they took a big back last year and already have 2 backs in this class and were still going after Cook and Michel.

If Madre was a year older I'd see the reason to gripe. The coaches are apparently going all in with Gus as the complement to Duke/Dallas/Yearby. Let's hope they're right.

I agree except I would add Powell to that list until he actually moves positions.

? Powell is the smallest of all of them. Or are you talking about it being Duke/Dallas/Yearby/Powell?

The bold.

He had legit interest earlier in the process but instead of evaluating him during spring, they wanted him to pay 50 bucks and drive down to the camp; which he never did. He always looked to play with moten as they are very close but his recruitment is done. I wish we would've offered and had him on board; he will be a very good big 10 bruiser.

We had Joe and were after Sony. But sure would be nice to have a big boy like him in class.

I love this site. So now we want a Big 10 type RB, but when Golden recruits Big Ten type players, he gets accused of trying to turn us into a slow @ss Penn State BIg 10 type team. If we offer a guy, people complain. If we dont offer, people complain. Recruit too hard, complain. Recruit not enough, complain. Land two great RBs? Complain we didnt land 3 or 4. Land an elite DL class? Complain about LB recruiting. Land an elite 11 top QB? Complain about some local DB prospect and claim he's goign to be the next Johnnie Heisman.

LOL

In regards to the RB position people are "complaining" because most of our RB's are smaller types. We have huge question marks for a short yardage back because Gus when given the chance has not done well in short yardage situations, even against "lower" competition.

Why are you leaving out Powell? He just might be the best besides Duke and we have no idea if Duke comes back at full speed. The kid is Good!

Gus will get better around the goal line. That much can be coached. That's not to say I believe Gus is the answer. Lets not forget, he was a plan B recruit, thankfully we got him. Nothing wrong with considering a new plan B recruit (Madre) as we have missed out on the 2 franchise big backs coming out this year.

The reason why I posted the question is because Miami is still obviously after a bigger back. That's why they are still after Sony and was after Cook. So if we are still after another back, what's wrong with the big back that plays in a south Florida school, and has big offers to boot. This school produced Gio Bernard and James White in recent memory.

I know he's good. He's also a redundancy, either with size and/or skill-set, to the other backs he'd be included with.

This makes too much sense. Many on this board don't like this type of mental stimulation....

We will regret not offering in a couple years

Are y'all going say this **** every time a kid goes somewhere else?

Yes. They will.

Unfortunately -
- Not every coach gets every evaluation right - see the NFL Draft every year - Al Golden will make mistakes - Skai Moore - maybe it was the Matthew Thomas issue, maybe it was a flat miss, but it happens to every coach -- minimizing it is the important part
- Not every player wants to play for Miami, this happens at other places where some players want out of an area for one reason or another. Another piece at Miami, is the team has been down for 10 years and there is apparently a racial disconnect since the expectation was that Randy Shannon was hired for life.
- Not every player in high school is going to develop into a star - no matter who the coach is - again there needs to be consistent development
- Not every coach has the hindsight goggles that message board coaches are given when they sign up for the website

We have a lot of experts on this board. Many of which fail to agree or acknowledge that talent and coaching goes hand in hand and that the NCAA had at least somewhat of an impact of the current state of the program. Others are simply trolling for comedic effect.

After recruiting season is over, I would like to see a breakdown of our class by these experts and gurus, evaluating each player in our class versus players at the positions that "got away", had grade issues, or we missed on. Pin the breakdown at the top of the board for each class and we can then evaluate it in the future. This will help us to understand in the future what happened now, rather than simply crying about any player from Dade who ends up elsewhere and is successful.

Still puzzled on why London does no have an offer. I understand if we had Sony or cook, but we should go after him now that we struck on them.

as far as moore, he said it was a numbers issue. thus, they thought they had matt thomas and jermaine grace.
