Mack Brown decision on 4rth down....

Lol at comparing Mack’s, who’s been a HC for over 25 years, career accomplishments to Diaz’s, who has coached 1 game. Lord have mercy.

I am not comparing the 2. I am saying when you have an NC under your belt you get a little more slack than a guy who was fired by that coach and has a HC record of 0-1.

Only 1 NC lol. Fact is Diaz couldn't recruit for schit even at Texas and still can't do it here. Which is even sadder.

Couldn't recruit?

He was LB coach:
2011: Steve Edmond 5*, Kendall Thompson 4*, Chet Moss 3*
2012: Shiro Davis 4*, Peter Jinkens 4*, Timothy Cole 4*, Dalton Santos 4*
2013: Got fired

So in his two years at the position he was focused on, LB, he recruited 5 4*, 1 5*, and 1 3*

Where's the narrative come from he can't recruit? I honestly want to know, 247 is so inaccurate unless you want to believe Todd Hartley recruited a majority of our players.

so because he got fired by the guy who resigned that same year it means something? I would think his whole body of work as a coordinator would mean more than 1 anomaly, dont you think?

Hartley was an elite recruiter. Why do you think Kirby grabbed him as soon as he could?

So basically in his 2 years at Texas he landed 1 5 star and 0 4 stars. At Texas. Sad.

So the LB coach wasn't the primary recruiter for the LB, right

And there's not even anything on 247 saying who recruited those players

Do you not follow recruiting at all? The primary recruiter is not always the position coach.

So you think Manny was cleaning up at Texas and then just forgot how to recruit when he got here?

Actually yeah the primary recruiter is USUALLY the position coach, the HC usually comes in to seal the deal or do you think Kirby Smart goes to every single recruits home personally

Did Mark Richt forget to recruit when he got to Miami?

Is Clay Helton some recruiting guru because USC was ranked 4 in the country two years in a row and now forgot how to recruit because they will finish outside the Top 15?

Guess it took Dabo 5+ years to finally learn how to recruit

Actually, what has been sad numerous times from the insiders is each coach has "areas" they recruit. Yes, Mark was old and washed up by the time he got here.

Helton could be a great recruiter, but sucks as a gameday coach and kids aren't going to go to that dumpster fire.

Yes, Dabo did get better year after year with his recruiting.

Manny instead sucked at recruiting at Texas, then took a step back at Miami, and now we are competing with UNC for the 3rd highest rated ACC team in the rankings.

I stand corrected. I did not watch the post game interview, I just saw him freaking out after the knee. It looked to me like a freshman mistake. Perhaps he is trying to take the blame away from the QB or maybe he really did just fvck up.
Maybe he took the heat but I doubt it considering he ran it the first down then knelt on 2nd, 3rd and 4th down which while I was watching I thought to myself why the **** are they even kneeling on 2nd the game was not over.

I just watched the post game interview and he literally says " The QB was supposed to run around for 6-8 seconds before kneeling". So what I said was not "false" as you stated earlier. It is exactly what I had said. It was a miscommunication.

Helton could be a good recruiter? Based off what exactly?

Dabo didn't get better as a recruiter, his team started producing results or might just be a coincidence. His 2019 recruiting class was ranked 15 if you want to go by average rating, those 15 3* don't help that average yet Dabo is considered a "savage"

I'm still waiting for proof Diaz "sucked" at Texas at recruiting or here.

If we get a Top 5 class next year does Diaz suddenly go from "sucking" to being able to recruit?

Based off the fact that he landed tons of talent. You can say "its USC of course he is going to get talent". Then explain why Manny couldn't pull schit at Texas. Texas is even easier to stack talent.

Yes, Dabo has had one bad year in recent years. It is an anomaly and it was still better than anything Manny has pulled.

The proof is the guy couldn't land any elite kids at Texas or Miami. That means he sucks. Its not like he is at Boise state.

Ummm... yes that would mean he learned how to recruit.

Once again I gave you bout 6 highly rated LBs that went to Texas in two years and if you don't think Manny had nothing to do with recruiting them as THEIR POSITION COACH AND DC then I don't know what to say to you

Manny wasn't the primary recruiter. The other coaches had their hand in bringing these kids to Texas. Those coaches are obviously good recruiters. If he was good he would have landed a few that he was the primary for.

I just watched his post practice interview from yesterday and he is nobody's fool. Very impressed with a realistic critique of his team in practice this week. He knows the importance of this game from a conference standpoint and what this game against Miami means to the program. He said in some ways Miami is very much as good as Clemson and sees this game as a measuring stick. He really is concerned with Miami's speed. Loves Miami's linebackers.Says they will have more guys back this week but depth is still an issue.
I remember years ago Miami played NC at night in a Natl televised game this will be a tough one.
