Lyle

He’s regressed. Maybe it’s the scheme, injury, weight gain, weight loss, new cleats, different pants, idk. But he isn’t the same guy he was last year.

No clue why we took Fletcher out after 1 series (with 3 carries) on the second drive of the second half. If we were going to sub would have liked to see Brown. He was more effective in the first half, and SMU hadn't stopped us between the tackles at that point.

Lyle did have a couple of nice runs on that drive though. The 3rd down was was not one of them. Don't remember if he cut back, but we were in 21 and I remember Fletcher destroyed the guy he blocked on the right side. Probably would have been better had Lyle ran that way than to the left.

he played wr for us but like 2 plays or something like that? I have no idea but I remember him at wr maybe you right idk anymore tbh.
He was a gadget RB for us and was a WR.

Unfortunately for him he was behind Restrepo.

He wanted to play slot so transferred to SMU. Was playing WR for SMU until in camp the RB got hurt and he stepped in.

Anyone blabbering about "we didn't play Brashard at RB is either lying or a casual fan.

I know he had that long *** run vs Clemson he almost fumbled away so I do remember him at RB but not a lot. Unless I am old and losing my memory

yes, he was a WR, that ran some gadget plays. like 18 carries in 3 years at UM
You are correct he left because of X and went to SMU to be a WR

Smith, a former wide receiver at Miami who transitioned to running back during his final collegiate year at SMU, rushed for 1,332 yards and 14 touchdowns in his senior season, adding 39 receptions out of the backfield.

Brown should be the full time RB2. He's far better out of the backfield and is a better running back option in Mario's caveman ball system.

its fascinating that Mario cannot figure out how to use speed backs. He chased Brashard smith out of here only to see him light it up at SMU and is now getting quality reps in the NFL.
Had 1,300 yards at SMU. 1,300.

Lashlee wanted him as a RB at SMU. He didn’t need another slot.

Smith had primarily played slot receiver both in high school and his first 34 college football games while at Miami. While Lashlee was familiar with him — and recruited him the first time around to Miami as a receiver — he offered a different pitch when Smith entered the transfer portal this offseason.

“When he decided to transfer and wanted to come here, and we didn’t really have a need at slot, but we just said, ‘Man, he’s just too explosive of a talent. Let’s see if he can play running back,’” Lashlee said. “So far he can.”

The personnel decisions and scheme fits utilized by this staff are absolutely maddening. I can’t, in good faith, blame the players for anything. We don’t put them in a position to succeed.

Tight splits on the OL do Lyle no favors. I want to see him in space before I pass judgement, and there is no space in this offensive scheme. Everything is in a phone booth.

I watch a lot of games and all but our offense seem to open massive gaps from time to time where a person carrying the ball (often times called a “running back”) can pick up 20-30 yards. Sometimes even more.

Even if someone didn’t watch a single game besides Miami games, you’d still be able to see it. Because teams do it to us every week.

The way Lashlee got toure and Thomas in coverage and abused them is exhibit A. Miami simply does not Identify mismatches and exploit them like every other team does. It is so painful to watch.

Pringle looks 10x better than lyle in his limited action, he runs hard.
Smith was a WR here mostly never playing over Martinez and fletcher last year either
looks like the coaches saw this too and decided to burn the red shirt with fletch out
