My man...people need to WATCH that Phil Donahue clip. The reactions on the faces of the people in the crowd - PRICELESS.

Young, old, white, black, nearly everyone that they showed was either stone-faced, fake-smiling, or looked like they just smelled a fart. I think there were two young guys who looked like they were down with it.

First verse was safe for radio, then they kept a bunch of lyrics intact that had to be bleeped. Insane. That ****e was REAL, that audience was REAL, not like all this fake Jerry Springer/Maury Povich stuff today.

Seriously though, I’m embarrassed with the crap they play weekly

He shouldn't be banned, but a lot of his music is not acceptable for a public family atmosphere. Same for all hardcore themed music.

I'm not a fan of the music. Wasn't in my youth and not now even with explicit lyrics removed. The videos from 20-30 year ago just look korny today. That time capsule should be left buried.

Well, despite what you may not like, Luke has been a pillar in South Florida for the black community and the youth for over 3 decades.

He loves his community and helping young kids grow into productive adult citizens. That's the part that people ignore.

He is an integral part of a lot kids lives. Many of which the University of Miami wants to recruit.

People should check out Footballviile and Canesville on YouTube. You'll get a closer look at the community and the people making a difference in it. Some really good interviews with Alonzo Highsmith, Luke, Raja Bell, etc, and the young athletes pursuing their dreams.

What is so misunderstood and misguided is that people think all the things he has done and said about UM in recent years, was about him. It wasn't. Wisely or not, he used the power and leverage not for himself, but for the kids when they were not treated right either in recruiting or as student athletes at UM. He may come off on social media as brash and all about himself, but that's not what goes on day in and day out in his community.

Mario has a relationship with Luke. To what degree, I don't know. It's enough where they have each other's phone number and communicate. Many will just say Mario is just doing it to get to the recruits. Perhaps, but these are two men that are a fabric of South Florida. Both love and embrace the people within it. Both men know that about each other People should keep that in mind.

First of all, I was making a general statement. I don't know you so how could I pass any judgment about who's lives you have impacted?

Secondly, you don't know me, but I'll tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Iowa. The only African American in my school until high school so you can only imagine what I had to deal with growing up. I learned how to navigate society at a young age.

I graduated from college with a degree in Computer Science while playing D-1 baseball. I liived in New Jersey for over 20 years where I worked in NYC for a financial company doing IT. I got a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from NYU. I have a son in college studying Computer Engineering as well.

So, if your kids are doing better than me, then congratulations!!!

While I'll agree Luther does plenty of positive things to affect the community you have to understand what drives him. At his core everything he does good or bad is all about the pursuit of staying in people's mouths,staying what he percieved as relevant. Certain ways he's greatly misunderstood. But in his eyes he sees all of this like the godfather. He's racking up his favors till he needs them. There is nothing about him we want too closely tied in with um again though. He's a liability we just can't afford around the kids or the program. I'm sorry but I can't explain that one any further. For all the positive he's able to do he can & will always do one thing to swipe it all away if given the chance.
