I'm not a fan of Locksley's coaching, but he has always been a strong recruiter.

He messed up trying to go finesse at Wisconsin with the spread offense . Wisconsin has a culture and a way to do things. You should recruit and build your teams by what you recruit and the environment you play in. They have big nasty OL and play in tough weather . They should always have a physical run game and a pass game off that. When they’re rolling the right way it can be a 8-11 win program which is fine. That’s the ceiling.

I grew up in Miami but live in Madison WI now.

He has definitely whiffed on his Coord hires, and unlike Mario, stayed loyal to them for too long.

Also unlike Mario, he’s whiffed on the QB position. Some of it was unlucky having the starting QB go down with injury early in season in 3 straight seasons

I do business with several former badger players, and know a guy that’s heavily tied to the Athletic Dept at Wisc, and he used to work at another BigTen school as Assistant AD…… very few people like Fickell, but he’s got a hefty buyout. I’m curious to see how bad it has to get before they bite the bullet and fire him
