Thoughts on this prospect? I know Coach Kehoe was big on him (don't know what Richt thinks). We are in the final three with Auburn and TCU. Dominated poor competition in Connecticut but also performed well at camps.

The tools are all there but I wish he was a bit nastier. High risk, high reward type of player.

Two things:
1. plays offense and D- good sign of an athlete.
2. Very timid at the line of scrimmage. doesnt have " Anger" DNA.

I will pass!

After taking a look at our current 2016 O-line commits (nobody), its hard to turn down a player like this. If TCU and Auburn are interested, we should be too.

What do they have to do with us though?

But honestly we need two TACKLE prospects he looks like he may be a tackle prospect...film wise i like the kid from Daytona Beach more..but he is light and needs about 20 pounds atleast. But i'd take th eboth and call it a day on the ol. We hav eenough guard prospects on this team.

I agree I like 2016 Marcus Tatum from Daytona Beach, fl more than Lucas Jiang. Tatum has practiced against some very good linemen at Mainland HS ( 3* DT Kevin McCrary and 4* DT\DE Jachai Polite), not to mention Mainland plays some tough competition.

If we are talking about taking a high risk\ high reward prospects then UM should revisit 2016 OT Brandon Walton from the Tampa Bay area, he was also a big UM lean before the coaching change. Along with 2016 OG Solomen Kindley from Jacksonville, Fl.

But UM's main Target should be 2016 OT Stewart Reese , he reminds me a lot of former UM linemen Eric Flowers.

Those players aside I think Lucas Niang plays to timid and stiff, which will get him run over when playing better competition.

Go Canes

Go Canes

Reese is one of the guys i want. he is a beast

I grew up near New Cannan he seems talented but the level of competition in the FCIAC is not on the same planet as south FL . Once he goes against really talented D linemen he might get destroyed and lose his confidence.

Niang is also a year younger than his class. He does not turn 18 until August 2016
