Miami has a enough athletes that we don't need important starters in on special teams IMO, especially not against nerd schools and booty state. So if something happened it was on the punt that was initially ruled a fumble that hit a Stanford player. It does look like he may have pulled up there. (He’s the gunner at the top)
Looks like this was his last snap. It was also 42-6 the next time the defense went out there, so idk.

I'd start the young guys vs FAMU. I wouldn't put an upperclassman on the field at DB. No point.

If we need bodies, I’ll strap up and play on some Daejon Love type ****. Gimme Mario’s # and a helmet and I’ll be goodAnd Ryan Mack + Ewald. But even in a game vs FAMU we need 6 playable corners. If O'Connor and/or Lucas can play just the first half I'd put at least one out there.
AllegedlyWe dont have a choice lol
Don't know. Seems like I was wrong on the degree of the separation anyhow. Not trying to mislead anyone and my bad if anyone feels that way. As of yesterday we were feeling 2nd degree separation. 2 weeks tops. Apparently that's not the case now according to presser so I'll shut the **** up.
Except he actually gave a timeline of his return, which is end of the year. No, you may very well be correct. Mario did not give details on the separation, he just said it was a "significant injury".
To Mario, "significant" could involve 2-3 weeks. Depending on how the dates and the recovery falls, it could involve 3 games. And 3 regular season games out of 12 (4, if you include that he missed almost all of the Stanford game) would be "significant" to Mario.
Don't apologize. We have a bunch of posters who like to dissect Mario's word choices, but otherwise don't have the same access level to injury intel that you have.
I see your point but Brown needs all the reps he can get right now.I'd start the young guys vs FAMU. I wouldn't put an upperclassman on the field at DB. No point.
Brown and O’Connor are both bump and run corners. It’s not like we have to go to zone with them out on the field. They’re both man up corners. Maybe with the backups on the field we might have to do zone but not with Brown and O’Connor.I'm expecting to see lots of zone, bend don't break, force the opponent to drive the length of the field with 5 yard passes and short runs only to kick FGs. Our offense will score at will on almost every team we face. Then in November or December, OJ + Antonie come back to give us additional depth/talent allowing us to play more man coverage heading into ACC/CFP games. Even if we give up 21pts on 7 FGs, I like our chances with 10 throwing to 1 and 4+6 running the ball if they attempt to take the pass away.
Is what it is brother. I happily keep stuff to myself all the time and I only mentioned it was a separation because I had the conversation the night before with someone on staff and after with oj to make sure he had a good mindset. No part in that did I think for a second it could be worse than we thought. That's on me and I have no problem with wearing things that I had to say. I was trying to give people a little bit of Peace of mind and what I said in fact seems to have had the opposite effect. No, you may very well be correct.
