LSU Tix

Take a wild guess why we can NOT schedule two OOS P5 games a year.

That’s a brain dead suggestion and is kind of indicative of our brain dead, self absorbed, non-contributing, one-way-street attitude of our **** poor fan base. The worst of any major P5 contender. Just so we can coax a few more fans to the games? C’mon fellas you’re smarter than this.

I hate to bust your guys’ balls, you’re good fans, you go to games, it’s appreciated, but you’ve had time to think about this, and you’ve now brought it up twice.

We’ve got to do better as fans. God we suck sometimes.

We’ve already got a home and home with Mich St lined up. We also had one with Rutgers until they canceled it on us.

You see UM alums don’t move to Jonesboro, Arkansas yet you think they’ll be in Corvallis, Oregon or Ames, Iowa?

Can’t have it both ways! I do agree with you that playing some of these other P5 schools would be fun and new. But how much sense does it make logistically to do a home and home with Oregon State?

I listed about 30 teams, and you are nitpicking two?

Corvallis is 90 minutes from Portland. Do I think that people would take the chance to visit Portland (and the many fine micro-breweries)? Yes I do.

Ames I can agree on. But I wasn't touting it either, I just pointed out that we have never played Iowa State.

I'm not "trying to have it both ways". I simply pointed out that there are SO MANY possible trips that would interest UM fans and alums simply because we have never played (or rarely played) certain Power Five teams.

Stop nitpicking about Oregon State and look at a map...

I’ve been there, my cousin plays for Willamette. It’s a pain in the *** to get to from Miami, zero direct flights. If you’re hanging your hat on being 90 minutes from Portland, that’s not much. Jonesboro is an hour outside of Memphis but to each his own. I think we both agree that we’d like to see the Canes play more P5 schools but if you look at our future schedule, we have quite a few lined up over the next few years.

Ah, yes, another sarcastic misses-the-point response.

We can ABSOLUTELY schedule 2 Power Five games per year, one home, one away. We have done it before. It doesn't have to be Alabama and Florida, we can balance out a "Southern Cal" with a "Vanderbilt". One home, one away P5 every year, fill in the other 2 games with whatever, and we will never be downgraded for SoS like Wisconsin or UCF were last year.

As for this: "our brain dead, self absorbed, non-contributing, one-way-street attitude of our **** poor fan base. The worst of any major P5 contender". In all honesty, I don't know why you even post on this board.

If that's the way that you want to characterize my suggestion, when I am an alum, a HC member, a season ticket holder, and, quite obviously, someone who travels to away games, then you need to cancel your log-in account and kill yourself.

I'm not sure why you continue to analyze my comments in such an all-or-nothing fashion.

No, I am not "hanging my hat" on Corvallis being 90 minutes from Portland. I am pointing out that (a) there are some UM alums in the Pacific NW who would appreciate Miami playing a game up there, and (b) for those of us who could easily drive to Memphis any time we want, but must make a more substantial plan if we would like to check out Portland, then yes, a game in that vicinity might give us an ideal excuse to travel up there.

Somehow, your tone-deaf response is turning into a defense of playing Arkansas State over Oregon State. If that's what you intended, then keep up with it.

I know there are a lot of non-UM-alums who think that we should try to play the same dozen OOC P5 teams over and over again. I'm not addressing that. I am simply pointing out that there are dozens of great venues where the UM football team has never been able to plant its flag and where there is a greater chance of UM alums choosing to travel and attend the games. UM alums have the money to travel, but nobody really wants to go to Jonesboro, Arkansas, no matter how close it is to Memphis. There are plenty of UM alums who would love to have an excuse to visit the Pacific NW for a weekend (and I listed THREE potential opponents up there).

As for our future games, you could not be more delusional. The Notre Dame games are contractual (ND's half-marriage to the ACC). We have neutral-site games against LSU, Florida, and Alabama. Other than that, we have ACTUAL HOME-AND-HOMEs with Michigan State and Texas A&M. That's it. If you think that is "quite a few lined up", then you are nuts.

I'm pumped with great ticks. This is having your misstres meeting your LTR and everything is heaven. The U will come here and still top prospects with the winning on all aspects of the ball game...... aka real swagger. Cowboys are looking for a serious X. I hope our QBs get the ball to a healthy AR to impress Jerry and Steven. I hope CMR shuts down the fn pipeline to OSU, and Bama fck.

That’s way harsh. Kill myself? Why? You’re the one with the stupid suggestion.

Check yourself, chief.

We would be the only P5 team scheduling two OOS P5 games per year. Bring that up at your next canes get together. When the laughter dies down, be sure the next rounds on you.

You just played yourself, player.

No AD in their right mind is going to do that to get cheapskates like you to maybe go to more away games.

Anyone get the email from the school just now announcing that tickets are on sale for the game? When you click the link it just takes you to SeatGeek! There are TONS of sections completely available right now. If anyone wants to buy their seats now they have 50yd line Miami side, lower level for $352 after fees.

I could be wrong but I think UM is going to take a beating on our allotment.

The official Advocate Classic game website also takes you to SeatGeek.

Maybe since I already got my tix through the school they didn’t put me on the list, but no email for me.

Looking for 2 but not sure where I want to sit yet as far as levels go. Has anyone been here before and know if one is drastically worth it or recommend one? Looking at the 200's as of now

Just got my tickets! Funny, because I bought from Vivid Seats and they previously said they would come from the Dallas Cowboys or Ticketmaster but the transfer link was SeatGeek; I had to create an account with them and the tickets were there.
