LSU lack of offensive experience

The meltdown has already begun and the game ain’t even started yet.
Im not melting, im just making time pass, if we lose i wont melt because i know this game can go either way and am ready for it to go either way.. Not sure why i get treated like a guy that came in here and said LSU is going to destroy Miami when i know that isnt happening

I love the completely optimistic fans of ours that think we will play perfectly while getting all the bounces. Lol.

The refs always call better for LSU's opposing team. It also sounds like refs are **** for yall too so maybe we will get a balanced called game lol
No they don’t...we went 8 games without a holding call and had two blatant ones not called in our bowl game and it resulted in 14 point swing...almost got Coach Richt thrown out too. Still Finished 4th in sacks though...unlike you.

anyone with "swamp" in the name that just joins has got to be suspect, wouldn't you agree?

If not gata lover then why would you ever want "swamp" in your name?

Bama has nothing but 1st round draft picks on their on the Defense every year, loaded with 4/5-star athletes with depth at every level. They gave up 330yds vs Miss St, would've lost if it wasn't for a final drive TD. They got steamrolled vs Auburn giving up 408yds total & 25 1st downs. Also gave up 365yds vs UGA & were a perfect throw from Tua to Devonta Smith with no time left on the clock from losing the National Championship.

Ohio State has multiple 1st round NFL caliber players annually on their Defense, loaded with 4/5-star depth.
They gave up 490yds vs Oklahoma, 386yds through the air, vs an Oh St secondary that has multiple 1st round draft picks every year. They also gave up 487yds vs Iowa when they got beat down 55-24.

Clemson gave up 440yds vs Cuse, that bum QB Dungey that we allegedly made look like Brady, was 20/32 278yds 3TD's & 0INT's. (compare that to how he did vs Miami). Also gave up 491yds vs NC St with Ryan Finely going 31/50 338yds 3TD's & 2INT's.

UGA gave up 488yds vs Auburn the 1st time they played, Stidham completed 69% of his passes vs them.
And gave up 531yds vs Oklahoma, including 242yds rushing. If Okla had a Defense they would've beat them.

So what's my point? Even the best Defenses loaded with 4/5-star players at all 3 levels (DL,LB,DB's) get carved up sometimes. With the rules in football all being slanted in favor of the Offense it's virtually impossible for the old school stout Defenses from the 90's & 00's to exist in today's era of football.

I 100% agree that our Defense was not as good as it should be & played downright awful too many times last year. I've never denied that we don't need to improve Defensively, we absolutely do at all levels. But if you're expecting a Defense that still has players like Robert Knowles, Mike Smith & a 3-star Juco Corner who was headed to Cincinnati coming out of HS logging significant snaps, then you're being unrealistic.

Our Defense should absolutely dominate LSU's Offense & if we don't there's no excuses that's all on Manny. All I've ever pushed back on is why this fan base has such high expectations for the Defense but such bare minimum expectations for the Offense?

Most of the chatter we hear about our offense is mostly centered on Rosier. All the speculation is based on last years performance.

Not much is said about our skill position players. Or even the OL for that matter.

We can roll them out **** near 3 deep at WR. 3 deep at RB. TE's are green but elite.

Experience on the OL with a few question marks but had a good camp. Most important position on the OL - center - could be all ACC.

As good as LSU's defense may be, we should have a slight advantage based on all the above.

No way LSU scores only 7 points. They are one of the most talented teams in the country. Also first game of the year so they've had all summer to develop new wrinkles to beat our defense with their new OC

I think we take it 27-21 but will be a tough game.. probably toughest game all year

I was thinking the same thing, i see alot of miscommunication in their future. Plus people say they are loaded, recruiting rankings don't matter once u step on campus. We are gonna bring tremendous pressure, more pressure than last season. I don't see them scoring more than 10-13 pts. And if their fans wanna rag on Rosier, when he was healthy and had most of his weapons he lead us to stomping VT and ND, a tremendous game winning drive v FSU wand 10-0, ill take him over someone who never played a snap of consequence.

Imo this is where we HAVE to dominate. It should be an overwhelming advantage for our defense. Just look at the inexperience they have....

New offensive coordinator and a downgrade from Matt canada

Qb
Joe burrow former 3rd string osu qb who doesn’t have any experience in a meaningful game.

Rbs
None have scored a touchdown or played much.Severe downgrade at the rb depth in terms of talent they have had in the last 10 years.

Top 4 receivers(Giles, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall)
Only 1 has more than 1 catch and he was at Texas tech in 2016. 2 freshman as the #3 and #4 receivers

Oline
2 experienced starters returning and an oline that struggled in fall camp.

Tight end
More of a blocking than a receiving threat in foster Moreau

Yes they have talented receivers but they are very inexperienced . Whatever this result is it will be telling.. the defense should be looking to redeem themselves after 4 straight bad outings to finish the season...

And this is why I’ve been saying there is more of a gap between the 2 teams when Miami’s is on defense facing LSU offense compared to when our offense is facing their defense.
I really want to see if Manny and his 3rd down defense will improve. Especially if it’s 3rd and long, I’d much rather us play tight man defense and give the benefit of the doubt to the DL to make a play rather than run some exotic blitz and pray the offense doesnt find the open spot.
