Imo this is where we HAVE to dominate. It should be an overwhelming advantage for our defense. Just look at the inexperience they have....

New offensive coordinator and a downgrade from Matt canada

Qb
Joe burrow former 3rd string osu qb who doesn’t have any experience in a meaningful game.

Rbs
None have scored a touchdown or played much.Severe downgrade at the rb depth in terms of talent they have had in the last 10 years.

Top 4 receivers(Giles, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall)
Only 1 has more than 1 catch and he was at Texas tech in 2016. 2 freshman as the #3 and #4 receivers

Oline
2 experienced starters returning and an oline that struggled in fall camp.

Tight end
More of a blocking than a receiving threat in foster Moreau

Yes they have talented receivers but they are very inexperienced . Whatever this result is it will be telling.. the defense should be looking to redeem themselves after 4 straight bad outings to finish the season...

And this is why I’ve been saying there is more of a gap between the 2 teams when Miami’s is on defense facing LSU offense compared to when our offense is facing their defense.

They should not score more than 10 points. Only way they get points is if Rosier starts throwing picks or out special teams has a blunder. Diaz and the defense should not allow them to drive on us multiple times for points.

I keep telling y'all.....first one to 24 wins. Plain and simple. If Miami can get to 24 before LSU does, this one is a wrap.

Also, take the under. These are 2 elite defenses and 2 offenses with a lot to prove. Early in the year the defenses are usually ahead of the offense, plus you've given Dave Aranda and Manny Diaz 6 months to prepare for the other's offense. If this is a clean game, i.e. no egregious turnovers, blocked punts etc, I see this as a 20-16 type final.

This is a crippled team. Everything about their offense screams S.O.S.. I remember the days when we were counting on incoming freshman to save the team. It's not a good look.. add in a transfer QB that hasn't exactly won the team over and it shouldn't be pretty at all! LSUs D is always good though..

Our boys better be looking at that O like its food! And I'd love nothing better than to start the game seeing what the AR82 vs Greedy matchup is saying.. I'll take a healthy AR all day. He practices against a better CB anyway. This game has me hype!!!

This needs to be a 6 or 7 point max game for our defense.

You guys are smoking some really good ****. 6 or 7 points? What world do you live in?

I realize LSU lost a lot on offense, I realize Miami should be good on defense....but LSU turned the ball over 8 times last year. They know what they do (run the ball, play smart) and they do it pretty well.

Last year Miami's offense was 29th in the country in yards per play (6.3). LSU finished a whopping 6 spots lower at 6.2 (35th in the country).

Miami averaged 29.1 points per game. LSU averaged 27.2. LSU played 13 games, and finished under 17 points twice (so did Miami, by the way). Once at Alabama (10 points) and once at Miss St (7 points). But they're gonna score 6 in a neutral site game? I don't know what you guys have been watching or reading but people on this site think we're playing FIU on offense or something. I don't expect LSU to be an offensive juggernaut by any means, but people are gonna be upset if Miami gives up more than 6 points? In a college football game? Last I checked they don't recruit paraplegics to play offense there.

You think LSU can put up 16 points in a clean game?

I’m not going to sit here and act like they won’t, never know but I just expect to see Miami on defense have a dominant performance

They’ve literally had the worst fall camp I’ve ever seen. Between arrests, suspensions and injuries they’re a patchwork team. If we somehow find a way to lose this game then we are in big trouble. All that being said, Canes 24-10

I think it's a form of PTSD created by the last 3 coaches. If we're back we need to be thinking that we go into a game like this to beat the brakes off this week prey of a team.

We have our own problems to fry: heavily pro LSU crowd, shaky OL, erratic QB, true freshmen TEs, new DTs, and a DC with a checkered past. It ain't gonna be easy but *** these mfers.

Key word in my post was needs. This needs to be a ND defense type game. Everything is lined up and points to that type of repeat game against a mediocre LSU offense. Will they do it? Remains to be seen. And when I say 6 or 7 points that obviously means no Miami turnovers that leads to TD or a special teams blunder.

This will be similar to the VT game. I see Rosier throwing 1 maybe two interceptions. Our Defense will the reason we win

The difference being the ND game was in our house. That's the big x factor. Can our boys take the show on the road, in jerry world, in front of an LSU heavy crowd and pull out the win? I think they will but it probably won't be utter domination like the ND game was.

Brock is 100% correct. LSU faithful are expecting their Defense to win the game pure and simple. And the only way that happens is if our O completely ***** the bed and hands them points via turnovers. Their D will be stout no doubt and will play us tough initially, but we should be able to wear them down. We've got way too many weapons for their Defense to bottle us up for an entire game.

Now on the other side of the ball is where we should feast. Our Defense should tee off on their Offense. In fact, I expect our Defense to do most of the damage and put points on the board more so than our Offense.

Even during the Les years when they had 'good' offenses, they weren't that good and rode their Defense to victory. This year, their Offense is flat our garbage and that is going to cost them all season.

You’re right. FIU has a much better offense. Read the OP post a few more times, let it marinate, then settle it down.
