LSU lost so many players before the season - Kelly took an early loss looking like crap - then readjusted his team.

No excuses about culture. No excuses about talent. Did not require 3-5 years. Just got the job done.

Nope not me. If you look at how his teams generally played above their talent level at ND, it was obvious he was an excellent coach. His teams made the playoffs multiple times with only a handful of 5 stars (I think the most he had was 4) and all the other playoff teams had at least 8. He's an excellent coach. On the other hand, Cristobal teams regularly lost to vastly less talented squads. That's how I knew he would be a corch.

Another coach whose teams have typically outperformed their talent is Lane Kiffin. I'll be happy to help UM identify a good coach in 2027, free of charge.
