Lowe is Done at the University of Miami

The difference here is that Cantwell and Buchanan are both starters. Lowe was going to be battling for 4th in the rotation with Scroggins and Pickett. Both those guys got snaps last year and were participants in spring, so I assume they had the early lead

No I understand that, I am only responding to the comment that he isnt sad he is gone since he never played he isnt going to be missed. While in a vacuum that statement is likely accurate, his production of zero is not hard to replicate but he was def looked at as being in the rotation this year and IF he hit the portal at the end of last year (say it was just homesick and he was a model student and player) then we likely get another DE so this happening on the eve of fall camp is a blow, not for replacing zero production but for the projection and depth of his production.

I also cannot say I fault Mario or Miami for pulling his ticket but in a pure football sense I do not think the move makes us better.

Sure. The loss of any scholarship player hurts and does not make us better. It's just that now, in their infinite wisdom, the NCAA has created a constraint that makes it hard to address issues such as these, at least until the next recruiting class.

Fair, I guess we just disagree there. Lowe got hurt last year but was causing fits in practice, if not do you not think he gets some burn over those two last year? I personally do. Talent wise he had the highest ceiling. We candidly do not know where he was because he was held out of Spring .

Agreed there. But I knew there was only one window, same way I think Wyman was shown the door but he got ahead of it and said he was taking a year off, that is going to be the new saving face since there is only one portal window.

Hence why I think we are saying the same thing... NCAA sucks as a governing body. Lowe leaving at this time hurts UM more than the people saying it doesnt matter at all since he never played a snap.
 
I just want to point out the difference between Mario's Miami program and the unserious celebrity program out in Colorado. One is like Fort Knox and the other is social media suppository where 5 stars are removed on camera with full lameness. One is laying waste and the other is burning down. Thank Mario for being a professional.

He got mentioned because it’s a fact he’s gone. Same as he mentioned the freshman DB who saw he was at the bottom of the depth chart and decided to leave now and preserve eligibility.

As for the NIL part, yeah. It could have gone to a portal kid. Now it will likely go to someone in this upcoming class. Can you think of a high end DE prospect the canes are chasing?

This. It’s not a decade ago where the team is desperate for talent. Theres a ton of talent on the roster and letting a distraction stick around sends the message that you can get away with stuff if you are talented. We don’t have to deal with that anymore. Either get with the program or you will be gone and another elite talent will take your snaps. This is the difference between how saban did things and Meyer did things. One cut out problems before they became cancers and had an unheard of 20 year run. The other built programs that won quickly but eventually ate itself from the inside and needed a restart.

Yes

We dont Lowe is that kind of problem that UF had but the fact Mario and the team cut it off now is a sign that Marios blend of talent and roster is working

Completely agree. It doesn’t matter what the issue was. Kid was enough of an issue that a decision was made to let him go. I’m not going to worry about it because the program is in a spot where they can absorb these losses without really missing a beat. Better to cut out a potential cancer than let it fester and impact the rest of the team. Again it’s not 2018 where cutting Jeff Thomas also crushes the talent level of the roster. We have the luxury of saying better safe than sorry and showing a talented kid the door.

I can, but that kid aint helping us this year lol

and about Mario mentioning him sorry I see how that was confusing but I meant how he mentioned him at ACC media days weeks ago how he was poised to make a jump, that Mario would not mention him if he was going to be unlikely to play, just like Wyman did not get mentioned as I dont think anyone expected him to play a ton this year barring injury.
