love the move to pringle ...

Pringle and Brown both bring a different element and play well off each others styles . Lyle has been atrocious with zero vision. Fletcher is a nice cog in the rotation but it should be by committee . Pringle brings explosion which we lack.

Kid just trying to hard to make plays. Young and hasn’t played and is excited to finally be getting his chance. He dropped 2 passes not like he is dropping everything. Let’s just see how the rest of the year plays out for him.

And he definitely has strong hands. Seen the dude go through drills and catch every pass with 1 hand with ease

He can't catch with two hands so why is he wasting time catching with 1 in practice?

He also isn't a very smart WR - 2x in the last two weeks he sat down in the zone two yards short of the 1st down, caught the ball, and fell down short of the 1st.

3rd & 11 vs SMU with 9 yard catch and then same thing yesterday on 2nd & 8 he sits down at 6 yards and falls down a yard shy.

Take his money and some more and go get Cam Coleman or some other difference maker.
 
Our running game sucks for a reason. We have to make giant holes or Fletcher is going to try and run someone over. He may get 2-5 yards sometimes more. If you get him or Brown moving laterally its over because they have no explosive cut ability.

Yes Fletcher will destroy DBs, but that gonna happen 2-3 times a game.

Lyle is vision impaired.

Brown is a bowling ball and does get some get some good yards after contact, but Pringle has that cut ability and you get him moving laterally he can find the hole. You give Pringle a giant Fletcher like hole he is going to hit it at a speed Fletcher simply can't get to. I don't know how old you guys are but seeing someone hit the hole with the burst Pringle does is Miami football. Seeing him get to edge free of a defender is Miami football.

Its funny how many guys on here cry for more outside runs with backs who don't have speed or that cut ability. Pringle is the only back that can make our running game as dynamic as it needs to be. You want to be a grind it out physical team them Fletcher and Brown are your guys. You want explosive plays and a home run threat then Pringle is your guy.

There's something to be said for this

Coaches that stick by their players even when they're struggling is an admirable trait

But there's a tipping point

Lyle's had plenty of chances to prove himself & he's been consistently bad

At some point coaches sticking by a player hurts the team

Coaches can do wrong by the other 80 players by trying to do right by 1

This shows up is in our recent losses - which were by narrow margins

BY NO MEANS AM I SAYING LYLE IS THE SCAPEGOAT FOR THESE LOSSES

There's 20+ reasons why lost each of these games

But would we have had a better chance to win if Lyle's carries went to other RB's?
IMO - Yes

I’m not saying they shouldn’t lose playing time for lack of performance. I just don’t think suggesting they portal out is the right way to go.

The lack of playing time & it being a numbers game is IMO why Lyle & CWH will transfer.

MOST LIKELY SCENARIO

The Depth Chart moving forward is:
Fletcher
Brown
Pringle
Lyle

I think all of the Top 3 are coming back next year. I think Lyle sees himself as a #1 not a #4, and I don't think Miami wants to pay him whatever NIL he's getting to be a #4 RB.

PLUS - I think we bring in for next year
1-2 Freshman RB's
Possibly 1 Level-Up RB

Lyle would have a choice - take a risk, and come back & compete to climb back up the depth chart. OR...transfer to a situation where the path to playing time is easier/more clear.

LONG SHOT SCENARIO

Everything on the field points to Lyle now being our #4 RB. IMO Lyle's been the 4th best all along. But I also thought Mario would start him vs Syracuse (and he did) because Mario/Dawson have an unhealthy belief in Lyle.

We've seen this before with Richt & Mark Walton + Lashlee & Jaylan Knighton.

So maybe Mario/Dawson rides with Lyle and they keep giving him carries no matter the result. And maybe Lyle produces. This also runs the risk of Pringle seeing he's not going to get a fair shake here and transferring (similar to Ajay Allen last year).

IMO next game will answer this question - do the coaches want Lyle or Pringle to be here next year?

And there's more to it than just production.
