love the move to pringle ...

I wouldn't say he struggled. He's scored a TD in every game he's played. Obviously he's not RB1 if Mark is healthy or even over Brown but right now I rather see him in over Lyle. Lyle just doesnt look right. Either he's lacking confidence or injured or both idk. What I do know is we cant keep wasting drives with Lyle getting 2 yards a touch.

Speakin of Mark, what in tf happened? I just recall him on the sidelines last week during OT, but can’t pinpoint when or how he got injured.

Same here. I remember thinking why isnt Mark in on that terrible 4th down run by Brown. Don't think we will find out with Mario at the helm.

Lofton is *** rn. Brock needs a shot
At least carver… he looks the part and if he gives a **** probably blocks better but who knows we don’t see practice.

But seeing how much Pringle was the spark plug we thought Lyle was and he was riding the pine while Lyle kept running into the wrong hole weekly is telling too

Mario is annoyed with Pringle's explosive shenanigans

We’ve seen Pringle in 4 games. His best performances?
BCU & Syracuse. He struggled against Stanford & USF.

Again, it’s time to stop crowning off limited action against bad teams, nor should we be quick to throw away players, especially coming off injuries.

That means every player Mario has recruited are simply turnstiles.
That’s not what Mario preaches though if my issue. He preaches that reps go to those who perform well. As of today, Lyle has done absolutely nothing to earn reps. You say Pringle performed against bad teams? Well..Lyle didn’t even do that. We don’t have time to wait on anyone to get going. We have to win out and anyone who can help with that..needs to be on the field.

I've been saying that the fault with the running game woes isn't with the OL or even play calling, mostly, it's bad vision and inability to hit holes. They finally spread things out and tried to run out of that instead of tight bunched formations and it still didn't work that well....until they used Pringle.

He was hurt earlier this year to be fair

Mario gets a lot of **** and I’m not a big fan but in general the young guys play if they’re good enough

He’s absolutely good enough to give him more carries

Coach Don Soldinger said Lyle is it, a big time talent. If Solly thinks he is all that I'm not ready to give up on him. I think it's just a lost season for him due to his early injury.

It's absolutely been the play calling.

The TD Pringle had, perfect call against what the defense called. Every running back on the team scores on that one. Syracuse was lost on that play, zero chance to stop it.

Same with the run up the middle. They didn't have the numbers there and he hit the hole hard.

Kid did what he was asked, but the plays called and the way they're designed have been the number one issue for sure.

Pringle is the guy. He has vision and he's slippery.

There is an offense that flashed at times last night which could be very potent. Getting Toney the ball beyond the passing game, letting Pringle do damage on the outside, and faster pace. I think that's the best formula you have right now. If they can expand upon that I think they have something.

Lyle had the opportunity for two big plays yesterday. There were gaping holes. He took the hand-off, looked like he was heading for the hole and then just inexplicably turned and ran into the pile. It happened right in front of my seats both times.

No reason to do what he did. He had plenty of room.

No vision.

He's been a bit disappointing but I would say the same thing about most of the offense. I personally think it has more to do with his confidence.

Listen to @Rellyrell everyone - Couldn't be said any better

The Correct Formula for Player Evaluation:

Games
> Practices
P4 Games > Non-P4 Games
Games vs Good P4 Teams > Games vs Trash P4 Teams
Meaningful Carries > Garbage Time Carries
  • Get excited for players - but wait until there's a good sample size of meaningful plays in meaningful games to understand who that player is
  • The depth chart isn't the end all be all
  • Trust your eyes. If they're not playing well, it's most likely because of the player
  • Look at ALL their meaningful games as a whole. Don't put too much stock into just 1-2 games

The Most Common Formula for Player Evaluation:
  • Soon as they have 1 good play, even vs a bad team in garbage time, assume he's a STUD
  • Assume their big plays vs Bethune Cookman will be replicated vs ND / FSU / UF type teams
  • When those plays aren't replicated - blame some combo of coaching, play calling, play system, player development, other players, injuries, opportunities, etc.

It’s awesome how you all quickly give up on the young kids.
He has been in college two years and he does nothing well. He is short, slow, can't block, drops key passes. He is not a tight end. What does lofton do well? I'll wait

Nah he’s a distraction let him go
Take his money and some more under the cushion and bring in a difference maker with hands.

All we heard all summer was how amazing his hands are and in the games he has no hands.
