Hurricane football was revived because a well known coach came here and got kids excited. Manny really should have stuck with Temple and build something. Miami is no easy place to get your feet wet You all say win first and they will come. Well the Acc might give Manny some chances but he is going to find out he is trapped into now having to suffer at the hands of his own doing.

Cane fan since the Norman invasion. Now that is dedication!

You know CMR lived off his name until the walls came crashing down. Lou would have been the same. Shnells was intimidating but he was the real deal. He learned from the greatest football coach ever Don Shula in my opinion. I just think Manny snuck im the back door and passion gets you only so far in a complex game football has become.

Simple declarative sentences should be the goal. I had to read that final sentence three times. Lotdy

Jesus christ, the guy hasn't run one practice, completed his staff, or spent 7 full days as the head coach of the University of Miami program and people are already writing him off? There's just no hope for some of our "fanbase".
Show me' first' fan base..

Lou Saban was a perfect example of what an experienced coach with his head out of his *** can do for a team. 1978 was a magical season, all things considered. I was at Florida field for OJ Anderson's superhuman game winning TD run (1 runner vs 7 defenders) in the final seconds. We got pelted with eggs soon after by some sour Gator fans.

Manny's got his work cut out for him. I don't like the hire as I don't think Miami is a program where anyone should cut their HC teeth. This program is too difficult an egg to crack for a novice HC. However, I'll be there, as I have been for decades, hoping he can succeed and cheering for the program.

Just as I suspected the lurkers can not find one reason for this hire. Blakes reasoning that it helps recruiting was silenced today. Manny is like a gunslinger fire away and hope it works. His defenses gave way to being unable to close gaps which lead often to long runs. His linebackers never really got better since they were freshman. His so called great defense rarely if ever played high caliber offenses so statistics were very good against very average teams period. God help what we saw against Wisconsin.

I will give you a reason Manny should be coach and that is he always was the spokesman for Richt at post practice interviews. He always took on questions from reporters. Be showed class and fortitude.
And BTW shame on those that do not give Saban some credit. It wasn't until he came in and establishred parameters for a team in disarray. And he was a good recruitor etc etc. History is all about this program and he was instrumental in keeping the program all but for dead.
