Fun fact there’s more Australian punters in cfb than cack gobbling trolls on cis. Mind blowing stat.

He's a redshirt sophomore. I was really impressed by his accuracy against Bethune. The rugby style buys our coverage unit a couple extra seconds too. Dude has been very solid.

Also it allows him to change the angle the ball leaves and direction it's going. As a returner fielding a line drive type of punt heading away from you is tougher than sitting under one and anticipating how quick the coverage is getting to you. Ball is coming quicker but probably knuckling and you still have to decide to field it or just let it bounce which can give you unpredictable bounces. You may sacrifice distance but still is very effective. Now we just need an accurate field goal kicker.

He’s angling the kicks which allows no return , so it’s pretty much 44 ypp with not much or no return.

another very important stat not readily tracked...

there is punt kick average....

more importantly there is NET punt - return yds average....

I'd like to see latter for Louie Louie vs national punting field

He’s angling the kicks which allows no return , so it’s pretty much 44 ypp with not much or no return.

Let’s be clear here .....

the goal of every special teams coach in America for every game is:

Over 40.0 NET yards averaged per punt.
No punts blocked allowed.
No shanks to flip a field short.

He does all that? He gets an A. Period

Yep. My bad for not knowing this. Googled and their's a ton of stuff. An academy in Australia for training NFL style kickers. Seattle, San Francisco have Australian kickers. I don't follow much else besides Canes football now. Used to follow NFL, but not now.

Best punter in NFL right now...aussie for Seahawks
