Lou Hedley named Ray Guy Punter of the Week

Didn't he already say he was coming back?
Lou has already said held coming back. Wants to get his degree.

He hasn't said anything on the record and far as I know and even if he did a lot can change in a few months. I think the notion he would return comes from a broadcaster in the VA game saying Hedley takes his opportunity to finish his education at UM very serious, which for me is a non-committal answer

I watch quite a few NFL games, but I can’t seem to recall anybody doing that rugby-running punting thing that Lou does a lot of the time.

Are there any punters in the NFL that use that style?

I don’t recall seeing anybody doing this. Admittedly, I don’t pay a ton of attention to the punters in the NFL, so there could be some, I’m just not paying attention that closely.

I also realize that Lou has punted straight on, non-rugby style from time to time as well and have wondered why...maybe prepping for the next level?

We are very close to having one of his punts blocked. VT came within inches and so did UVA if I'm remembering right.

Lou is a ausie punter they can punt in many styles and varieties.. I am guessing he switches it up when they feel that the opponent is overloading towards his rugby punt of to do a one step type punt straight on.. NFL has been getting more and more austrailian punters

In one of his pressers a few weeks ago, he stated his intent was to return with the reason being he wanted to get his degree.

Didn't catch that, that is awesome

He did.

""I think at the moment I definitely want to come back next year," Hedley said. "I think I've done so much from junior college and then coming here and have been in so many classrooms. I've got to take care of that aspect as well. I love the pros of that and I really want to concentrate on getting my degree, hopefully a Master's. So at the moment I'm really focused on getting educated and worry about the leg and the pros after that aspect."
