Heatherman said after the game he knew they were running a QB draw. Said they used that formation, etc for that play all year. They got word in from the sidelines for an adjustment but not everyone got it. he said he should have called a timeout.....

I feel like if we played them again we would win. It took a bit to figure out the defense, and we need our full healthy allotment of CB's.

But we got way more pressure on Mendoza than they did Beck.

They ran and defended A gap better than we did. Their RBs ran harder than any we played all year.

Black was their best back. Just a bulldozer.

We still had more rushing yards than Indiana.

Had that happen once in a HS football state semifinal. Team went empty with an H-Back on 4th and 4. They had done this throughout the season calling a QB draw or X curl's slot 9's CWM. We knew the signal for it, caught it (went verts and curls), told the sideline who yelled out the warning (up top), defense echoed the warning......CB on the far side slot, really good player currently at an ACC school, of the field from our sideline somehow didn't hear it and got caught staring into the backfield. 49 yard TD pass. Lost the game by 2. Not a great memory. We had them and then we didn't. Atmosphere in the booth was one of shock.

Our defense had 2 times to stop them on 4th down and couldn’t get it done. Failed!!
We have a qb that has 52 second on the clock from the 47 yard line and throws a pick.Failed!
We got beat by a team hungrier and better team.
They deserved to lose this game.
Hopefully, it won’t take till 2049 for this team to get another shot.

they were better coached, more disciplined, executed better, gashed us late in the running game when we couldn't do the same. from at least this board's POV, our entire gameplan was to pound the rock and win the trenches. but we lost that matchup, so the fact that we had a chance to win with 1 min left from just fletch's long TD and the passing game opening up in the 4th is more than you can ask for.

yeah we gave up 7 points on the punt block, but they also had uncharaceristic ****ups that resulted in miami points. when you wash out all that, on balance they played better.

i don't feel robbed. if we lost the ole miss game i would have felt way worse - losing to a worse team because of what feel like dice rolls. no, i feel like it's year 4 of the project, and next year we have a top QB, maybe dawson learns from his mistakes (and if not we fire him), and we reload. this is only step 4, and i believe there will be more playoffs and more natty games to come. it's been a great season.

And after all of that, we still had a chance to win late. Something that no one else who played them this year can say. The pick was heartbreaking. Very proud of how they never quit!!!
