Our overall performance yesterday was an abomination, but we did land a few of players that I think are going to help us a lot in the future.

For instance, that Butler tackle everyone was clowning looks like a solid signature. When you have programs like OU and Auburn chasing you, it means you’re — at the very least — an above average player. He’s a plug and play guy; maybe will even be an upgrade over St. Louis.

I’m not here to pump sunshine because this staff deserves all the heat they’re getting, but we shouldn’t lose sight of the kids who signed up to be Canes that can help this program. Take solace in the few victories we have, gentleman.

The Butler kid is only here for one season and is undersized. I don't understand the hype surrounding him. When you miss on Neal (future LT for 3 years), getting an FCS kid for 1 year is something to be happy about

He has been evaluated with the POTENTIAL to be an above average player.

A low bar to begin with and the minimum expectation.

I think we got some solid players yesterday. A couple of starters with all conference potential. We got the best WR in the state. The best LB in the state. Two solid DBs. Harvey gonna slide right into that Jackson/ Garvin role. As has been said, we will always get good players.

The problem is we whiffed on sooooo many targets, and the offensive class is shameful. It is painfully clear that there is no recruiting strategy or apparatus.

Like I said, it’s not ideal. But in order to keep your sanity, you have to look for “wins” in some areas.

This is what I hated about yesterday that goes largely unnoticed: the guys who actually hung with us during this sideshow. They get much less love because we’d rather complain about who we missed on (not really avoidable). I really think some of these dudes will be team leaders in a year or two.

I agree completely. Just trying to help move people back from the edge.

We did get some gems in the recruiting class as i stated last night but didn’t hit on our overall numbers because they missed on some big targets. With that being said I really Like the additions of the 2 transfers who both are more than good takes and then we have some gems in the class like Payton, Blissett, huff, keontra, harvey, couch, brooks. Nice developmental prospects in Clark, munoz and Holley

The defensive side of the ball looks solid. Couch, Smith, and Huff are all ballers. And they deserve kudos for sticking.

True and I’m telling you Blissett is really under rated right now. That kid has great size, is explosive and athletic

Seems like we got quite a few good players but not enough especially at OL and QB . Seems to be the general feeling towards the class.

Missing Neal was inexcusable. No doubt.

I understand the thread and can respect it. But, the idea that this tackle is going to fix our left tackle issue is shortsited. He's a one year "possible" fix and I doubt he's ready for the competition he's about to face. Big picture, we still don't have a left tackle of the future and are going to need to bring in a stud next season who wont be ready as s freshman.

Our depth problems are on CMR now not golden and the "he's young" excuse is old. Sadly, we'll keep hearing it because the staff hasn't been able to sign players at each position consistently.
