Losers

Banners satisfy only the egos of those who fly them. It flat outs hurt recruiting which is the life blood of any college football program. No one likes how the year turned out but does a banner make next year better? Absolutely and 100% NOT. But posters on this site aren't real fans. They post here to feed their egos and not do what is best for the team. This is what make being a Hurricane fan so challenging. You have so called fans that will hurt the team to so called support the program. It is what it is. I have come to accept the stupidity while hating the stupidity.
Recruiting is bad before banners

Kids aint stupid they know we suck they dont have to see a banner when all they have todo is watch the games

The truth of it is the majority of miami fans aren't alumni they're uneducated trash. That's why you don't see this at schools like Michigan.

Good to know that I'm trash because I decided to enlist into the Marines instead of attending college.

I never post here, but always stay current because of the content (thx DMoney, Stefan, & All)... I am a lifelong CANES fan and just embarrassed by the losers who paid for the banner today. I live in Chicago and come down with family to support the team... does Richt's offense blow? Undeniably... BUT, we had recruits in a down year today seeing fickle, feline fans rising a banner - what good does that do when everyone knows there is no potential change possible? You guys should get a FAKKKKKKKKIN LIFE and pool ur 10->15 dollars on a tee or pair of socks. You think Michigan people flew banners over RichRod? Some of them hate Harbaugh like you Mary's hate Richt...

OK, so as a season ticket holder of 4 seats I find it offensive that the only offensive thing I get to watch at our games is the fact that my HC can't figure out that what he is getting paid for he is actually failing at! No one would need to even consider flying a banner if the HC actually acknowledged that what he is doing is not working. Instead our HC says things like he is not going to change his offense that does not work and he is going to still call plays which consist of about 10 total plays as far as I can discern. If a guy is going to be that stubborn in his approach when he is clearly on the wrong side of the argument and is going to try and stick it to the fans of the team that is also his alma mater then he has to expect some rebuttals from the people that pay his salary, right?

As far as me buying season tickets next year, my $2,400 can be spent better than it was this year, elsewhere. These are the repercussions of Richt's inaction and inability to adapt or even acknowledge there is a problem. I am an alum, donate to the school and the program and a season ticket holder to this team in some fairly pricey seats. I literally am begging to spend more money to watch my favorite team, saving my ticket costs is not my goal or a need I have in my life any longer, but I can't even bribe my kids to go to the games any longer because it is so boring for them, UM football and boring are never supposed to be said in the same sentence, but what am I supposed to say "hey look kids, another run on 1st down" or "hey another 3 and out, look kids that is history in the making for futility"? All the while Coach Richt is telling me these plays are the same plays he has been calling for 20 years!!! You got fired from your last job for doing the same thing you are doing today and you need a banner flown over the stadium before you figure it out???? Holy crap, this is worse that I even thought! I would not let him even hire an OC I would have to let him go with this demonstration of his cognitive skills! For anyone to question the frustration of the fans rather than the guy that is making $4MM a year to fail is more perplexing than Coach Richt's approach.

I had the unique opportunity of watching both of my alma mater's play against each other last night, in person. Undergrad at UM and MBA from Pitt. Pitt sucks and their performance was horrible, do I care enough about watching that alma mater flail round the field like a wounded animal? NOPE! I loved every minute of UM's defensive dominance but all I can think of is PItt is the Coastal Champs and my superior talented team is going to the toilet bowl because my head coach has his head so far up his own **** he can't see straight! U think anyone at Pitt is going to fly a banner about their coach??? MOPE, because no one cares about Pitt Football and they haven't since Marino was there. While people still do care about our program we should at least be happy for the passion, but Coach Richt is sucking that emotion out of the fans and the players right before your very eyes and he doesn't care that it is happening and soon the rest of the fans will start caring less and less.

There was a game with the coastal champs in town last night, and it wasn't us, we went 4-4 in a weak *** coastal division and to listen to Coach Richt on the post game radio interview you would not think there was a care in the world about our program! When they stop caring is the death knell for our program and it is happening right now, by not acknowledging that fact you are reacting the same way Coach Richt is with his 90th ranked offense in the country. Al Golden used to make excuses for his horrible defense and his good buddy running it. Well we now have a D and the offense is being run like our defense used to be run, and we are paying a guy $4MM for him and his son to run it that poorly. If the thing you love and adore is UM football then be prepared to not see your loved one any longer because it is being dismantled right now by an alum no less. The only thing trying to save our program is Manny Diaz and a group of 18-22 year olds that play on our defense, the only thing that saved us this year from having Toledo being our best win of the season, YIKES!!!

Miami would be a division 2 team without the backing of the city. Go **** yourself

Richt ruined my football season. He should apologize for being a stubborn donkey. So many mistskes made this year. Offense, St? Disgusting! So, if people express their disgust by flying banners, so be it.I am okay with it.

wth is a feline fan? :jordan:

Best I can figure out is it has to do with PETA.

Just a general question... Weren’t banners flown during the Butch era? Didn’t Butch go on to assemble one of the greatest CFB teams possibly in history? Banners have been a Miami thing for a while... I’m not a fan of them, but whether they fly or not at a freaking game... a “GAME” and paid for by passionate fans is not as big of a deal as you may think, and honestly doesn’t reflect as poorly as say the fan base not showing up to games. Which, btw, is also happening, and is also a Miami fan base thing. Richt just needs to shape up. If you’re offended by it now I’m not sure what you were doing before, but I guess you’ll be starting a movement or lobbying for some sort of anti-banner law soon.

The only unfortunate thing on banners is the messaging sometimes.. There aren’t any real controls or filters..

I'm not a fan of the banner. But I don't agree that fans shouldn't be flying them because they won't make a difference. Any coach who refuses to take responsibility and continues to blame the kids is asking for push back from the fans and team.

If Coach Richt is too stubborn to admit his flaws the fans have every right to try and get his attention. After all we pay/support this program.
Spot on

@allcanesalltime I am sorry if I am being a pest but time is running out on these weekend black Friday deals. As stated before, I am quite interested in buying some new pairs of socks and you seem to know a great deal about socks. I pooled together some money from my piggy bank and would like to hear your opinion on some of the better sock brands. Have you heard of Bombas socks? They get good reviews online but they are relatively expensive. Do you think they are worth it? I appreciate any time you can spare from your busy schedule to help me out. Thank you.

This is Miami buddy not Ann Arbor or Athens or any of those other little towns. If you’re looking for sympathy when you’re **** at your job you’re in the wrong city

What is it that about the banners that triggers people?
losers hate being reminded of being losers. when they see those banners they realize we canes fans are the joke of college football for over a decade. At least those losers who paid for the banner want change and are willing to admit to being losers but the losers who hate the banners are too pusssy to admit to being losers.

I completely understand OP's sentiment.

His comparison to Michigan is interesting to me. Remember when Michigan AD Bo Schembechler called a press conference before the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament where Michigan was a #1 seed AND FIRED THE HEAD BASKETBALL COACH?

Can ANYONE see Blake James doing that? Quite the opposite, I can envision Blake James tweeting something like, "Best of luck to coach Fisher in his new job. I have no doubt he'll represent Michigan well over the next two weeks before formally resigning."
