Unlucky 13 points and questions

- TVD predetermines his reads to Restrepo so badly and it's so obvious to us fans not making 6 figures like a DC to know that. He was blanketed on big downs last night and TVD still forced it there. Late in the game Horton was wide open but forced a ball to X regardless. How do us regular people all know this but the OC making 7 figures can't?

- Leonard Taylor is non existent. Standard recruit of the past who looks great on paper with sub par intangibles in particular in this case of selective effort. Talent is there but it only gets you so far and he's a non factor when we need him the most. What NFL team would pick this selective talent on a high draft pick?

- Guidry's defense overall is encouraging playing a style that we should be playing here. Made Maye look average in the first half with how he played him. There was one guy that was going to kill us in Tez Walker and he continued to put him in single coverage with no help. Overall, he's been great and this was his first overall glaring issue from a strategy standpoint. When was the last time we saw a personal foul on an assistant coach?

- Dawson has some unnecessary arrogance to him after a great September but after being involved with the knee last week and what we looked like last night is unwarranted. Huddling up down 3 scores in the 4th was head scratching. Like Guidry, he's running a system that sets our team up for success but he's been bad in the month of October. Can he get out of his own way or will his ego get in the way?

- On a positive note, our WR's are so much improved and KB is doing work where it is extremely noticeable. Can B. Smith, Ray Ray and Horton get more snaps?

- TVD physically is tough with his 3 ligaments he's playing through and the shot he took last night. His a mental midget as you watch his body language on the sideline after he makes errors and shows zero leadership. When things are good, he's great but when they aren't he doesn't posses that fire and resilience needed to work through tough times. The last legit alpha we had at QB was Brock Berlin. Is it really a surprise why the last 20 years have been so bad with betas running the most important position?

- We do not use our TE's and RB's nearly enough in our passing offense. Question is how much of this is on Dawson and how much is on TVD?

- Ajay Allen's half assed attempt of a block was embarrassing. Our previous beta coaches we expected to keep him in for the next play. Deeply concerning that Mario who prides himself on accountability and those that practice the best play the most let him play the next play. Where is the Oregon GIF Mario laying into his guy for stupidity?

- Kichens is not living up to his All-American status from last year. Not good when Guidry's specialty is safeties. On the flip side, James Williams has shown improvement but still has a higher ceiling and needs to do more. Does it really feel like we are getting the play of 2 NFL guys with heavy talk of them declaring after 3 years?

- CB play is disappointing. We are tackling much better but our coverage is average at best and where are the Brown brothers, Richard who we heard so much about in camp?

- Stupidity and No Football IQ are tattooed on the program. Still plenty of Danny Miaz holdovers contributing to this but the portal has helped gut a lot of the loser mentality kids. Between penalties and dumb plays, we make it so much harder on ourselves to win than it needs to be. How do you explain giving up twice the penalty yards but twice the points to UNC?

- Situational Football continues to haunt us. Giving up 2 TD's in 3rd and 18 or more is just inexcusable. Fumbling on the 1 yard line, drawing a personal foul after a punt return to give the ball back and the list goes on and on and on. When will we stop relying on pure talent and understand that it only takes you so far?

- Don't believe the GT debacle played a part in this performance. We came out fine with a halftime lead, yet found a way to lose. Completely outcoached in the second half and it's like Mario didn't know what hit him. Looked lost every time the camera was on him. Legit had a deer in the headlights look to him which we haven't seen the way we saw it during that game.
