Looks like SJ is starting at guard

Of all the NFL HOF centers, they range in height from 6"1-6"3. Look at what Willie Lampkin is doing on the Eagles, he's 5"11.

Sure, he's not 6"6 330. But his balance, hands, and "twitchy-ness" are amazing apparently.

What Samson Okunlola gave us last year at guard, I'm hopeful SJ can give us the same.

Your doing it wrong, need to set up in a slightly offset tripod stance. This will give a solid base to free up both hands and use all your core strength for snapping and striking. Speaking from experience of coarse
Went out and practiced. This look good to you?

I realize this but all I hear is that he's having trouble snapping the ball...
I questioned it above. Could be true or he may not fully grasp the mental side of calling out all the protections etc. We're all speculating at this point.

Back up center and the snapping issues don’t matter until an injury and then it would become our biggest question mark and worst case could derail our offense.

I’m not sure if SJ is the back up center or if it’s Woodrow but regardless haven’t heard good things about eithers ability to snap. I feel like they will figure it out but the messaging from the insiders hasn’t been good.

SJ should be the garbage time center to get him some game reps.
We’ll certainly find out if he is or not within the next four games re the bolded.

Dawson said we hav multiple options at backup center and given our starting center’s extensive injury history I don’t doubt it. I don’t think all the insiders would be so confident in SJ’s future ability to be a good center in the NFL if they hadn’t seen him working at the position currently, even if he is a bit behind as to not be the #2 guy atm.

Rhys has many senior year highlights of him snapping. He played LT/C (& DLine) his junior year however his HUDL page strictly lists him as a C. There are some snaps on the junior highlights as well. Ill worry about RR not holding it down when, if, it happens.

If he spent 4–5 hours on an off day just nonstop snapping the football, he’d probably get pretty good at it. I’m not trying to be mean, but is snapping really that difficult if you spend a couple hours learning? Or is he having trouble adjusting to blocking post-snap?

Maybe just me, but I doubt that is a major issue at this point. He is evidently strong as a bull and has tremendous leverage. Rodriquez has a lot more time snapping and is a 5th or 6th year player. I think SJ just has shown he is more ready at guard than the freshmen have.
