Looks like Blake James spoke with a few press members today

I mean Blake was trying to save himself “we’re close to 4-2” sounded like he was talking to the board
Oh, maybe. But without any actual knowledge my guess reading that is that they want BJ to do the dirty work and then they throw him in the same proverbial grave he dug for the other guy or they plan to reassign him so he had no choice to do the dirty work most don’t want to do themselves. The 4-2 puffery seems like bad brand spin that something actually strategic.

We need to, we hope to, we should be.....

That's all what will be hearing for long time. I hope not too long.

James was then asked why he has decided not to replace Diaz at this time, considering the reality of where UM is as a football program. “Because I don’t think that’s the best decision for the University of Miami football program,’’ James said. Why not? James: “When you look at Year One obviously there were some real challenges in Manny’s head coaching. He would acknowledge that. It was a tough finish for us with the three losses to end the season. “Year two the team significantly improved (3:58) and had a great year overall. Obviously a very disappointing and frustrating loss to North Carolina and a battle with Oklahoma State that didn’t go our way. But calling it for what it is, an 8-2 regular- season record and loss in the bowl game.
This is more evidence of Blake as a poor manager who has little to no leadership/accountability above him. He has a "choose your metric" style to what success looks like from season to season and scenario to scenario. What other business gets run in this manner?

I can't believe the head of the SyFY network is the chair of the board that is supposed to corral actual business leaders and executives into a coherent strategy. If there was ever a time they needed a Fain or Miller as the chair it is now and conveniently we are led by this.
Sharknado is less absurd than manny being retained

Could be Blake's supporters are "strongly advising" him to go out with this stuff . It's been said there's something close to a "civil war" inside Hecht over all this. This could be their way of trying to save his butt at the expense of Manny.
Cribby called Blake trying to can Manny to save himself weeks ago lol. It’s such an obvious play that it’s almost insulting to everyone knowing the backstory here. Can’t wait until both are out of my face.

Ironically, that's Blake's job... to fire under-performing coaches...

There are few industries that have as clear of a black and white metric as athletics.

Hard to seem in charge when you created the mess
