Looks like Aranda is staying at Baylor

They also keep putting clauses in the contracts, that if the coaches wants to leave to go to a new school the coach doesn’t have to give back any of the money & the school is still on the hook for 80% of the contract.

That’s the same deal that Jumbo Fisher, James Franklin & Mel Tucker have all signed, it’s the most coach friendly contracts ever. Sh*t crazy lol
I know he is hated around these parts but Jimbo I can understand with regards to TAMU, he was a championship coach that they had to poach from a school that had winning pedigree to build them up (I understand he wanted a parachute from FSU as they didnt want to invest more).. Respect to the bro and not to pocketwatch or hate on him, but ******* Mel Tucker getting 100 mil dollar deals?! Who he beat? A Manny led Miami?! Lol.. wtf..

They paying corches 100 mil they can find the money for the players, **** that.

He doesn’t want to go to usc. And lsu doesn’t even have him top 3.
He'd jump on one specific job as long as the school showed they were serious I think. Too bad the school is apparently focused on a coach Aranda would coach circles around.

The Gameday guys even said they don't see Campbell being a fit at USC.

I was surprised a few mentioned Brian Kelly for that job - which would potentially put Fickell back in play at ND, or maybe Urban if he decide the NFL wasn't for him ala Saban.
1. F*** anything ND. Always.
2. Having said that, Fickell would be an excellent choice and it has always been reported that Urban wanted that job.
3. Even though ND has clearly relaxed standards and rules since they brought The Lisper on board, I don't think they'd drop to Urban's baggage level.
4. I see Campbell at a win-more-with-less college town program, at least right now. He might have been a really good fit at something like a Michigan State if Tucker had left. His staff has proven they can find and develop talent, maybe better than any other staff right over the past 3 years or so. It has not proven, likely because it has not had the chance, that is can deliver high level talent in recruiting and then motivate/develop it.

After the last 20 year you would entertain the idea of hiring a coordinator?

I personally don’t want to take that chance again. P5 coaches only for me.
Wasn’t saying that for us. Just insinuating that other programs might

Ok. But the point I am making is an extension whether predetermined by hitting bench marks or negotiated afterwards doesn't mean much except it drives up price of negotiations if a coach still decides to leave.
That one year extension had NO increase in salary or in his buyout. Simply 1 year added to his contract period without impacting any other dynamics.

Expected extension in next couple of weeks. Is it an automatic one year extension for meeting certain criteria?. We do not know. Meanwhile a lot could happen before extension signed. Panicky people on this board.

Agents are out there making some serious power moves and banking some serious cash.

Regardless - extensions make the situation more difficult, sure, but not impossible. If the right people put up the right money, it is kind of meaningless if a guy signs an extension. If he wants the job, and the school is able to make the $ work, then voila.

Hypothetically of course. Like I said - the extension and the buyout language, etc etc surely makes the situation more difficult.

Very interesting stuff. To me it will be interesting to see what LSU does with their hire.

Low key kinda glad (as long as it doesn't eventually effect us) I got a weird soft spot for Baylor.
Id love to see the state get taken over by anyone not named Texas or TAMU, hopefully they keep building up.
