Looking back, reliance on the Portal revealed the state of the program last season.

The more we depend on the portal for multiple guys year after year, the more we'll have depth issues.
- You can only sign 25 players per year, 100 in 4.
- We have 85 scholarships.
- If we lose 5 players per year (transfers and declaring early for draft), we're already at 80.

If we use ICs on 1 and done transfers, we'll be even lower than 80 as the kids will graduate quicker. You need to build depth through HS signees and freshman/sophomore transfers and only use the portal to truly fill a gaping hole or pick up a legit starter, mainly QBs and such.

The program was in a bad place with the available talent/culture.

CMR knew what he had coming back with the O-line (and D-line, DBs to an extent). He **** sure knew the top two QBs in the program couldn't beat out a guy he himself told would never play at Miami.

If he was wavering at all, the team's effort in the bowl game cemented it for him.

Why do you think he left? You think a 745 winning percentage coach was going to do another year to continue tarnishing his overall legacy as a HC?

Manny knew what it was too, he bolted, but it was a chance to get his foot into the door as HC. That’s why he had to jump right into the Portal (desperate for a Q, and was desperate enough for WRs he had to bring back JT4). At least he grabbed K.J. Osborne or maybe we have a couple more losses. And regardless of people hoping freshman will be ready to go next year, we'll unfortunatley have to rely heavily on the portal again to fill in where recruiting hasn't done the job.

If mork had Hired a good OC demoted his son to backup hydration specialist he could have been successful period

There are immediate needs at OL, CB, K, and for another fast LB. That will require the portal.

Nah man, the lack of good leadership at the top of the organizations shows the state of the program. That was one decent thing mannny did.

Pricht took this job because he wanted to be his own OC, and failed at it. And offense was his background. There is no reason to think he’d have won with a qualified OC. Didn’t happen at UGA with more resources.

Miami fans who think Pricht would have won with a different OC, or Gluten with a different DC, and reflecting a complete misdiagnosis of the situation. Richt failed with more resources elsewhere, and Gluten still hasn’t been hired as a HC anywhere.
