Looking at the CFP

Leadership is so different. Y'all saw Dabo and Brent. Y'all saw Nicky. These dudes want to.pjt a dagger into the opponents jugular EVERY SINGLE PLAY ON ALL 3 SIDES OF THE BALL. I want a HC that will break his head set, chew it up and spit it the F out if that's what it takes to win. There is no comparison in the coaching our young Canes are getting right now and Clemson/Bama. Most of these top kids wanna be coached up.

It showed clearly last year. We couldn’t move them off the L.O.S and we could get in their back field w/o a blitz.

U’re absolutely right; Bama’s DE and coming in at 6’6 270 and running like our 6’4 245 DEs. I mean look at Surtain Jr. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not moved to safety next yr. dude already put on serious muscle.

@Rellyrell, I've been saying this **** since last year...... The only ones who look like they lift weights and exercise are, Homer and Lingard. I know I'm missing a few other dudes, but that's not a well conditioned team that we see every week at Miami. Please, get me LSU's weight trainer, their DB's look like LB'ERS, for real.. just imagine how their DENDS and Dtackles look like. They look the part and play it, too.

Your friend may be right. Gus's mentor is one of those HIT Manifesto guys. Many in the business say HIT is not a good way to train athletes for explosive sports especially the style his mentor taught. Sounds familiar huh? Not many explosive plays. Guess where Gus's mentor is hanging out these days? The correct answer is Miami, FL. I'm not saying this is how Gus is training our guys because I don't think it is, but I'm not sure Gus is the best guy to teach the more explosive concepts, some of which are pretty technical lifts.

His mentor is on staff. HIT is junk and outdated for football programs. Hatch method is the real deal. Moffit and Cochran use it

I went to the game last night as I was given free tickets. I sat 10th row on the Bama side of the field. I just want to say a couple points to add to what the OP said. Some of these are going to be obvious but I feel they should be said anyways.

- Bama looks like an NFL team compared to us. Gus and our overall S&C/Nutritional program isn't even in the same universe as Bama. There needs to be a significant change in this area.
- Bama's second/third string OL are all noticeably bigger than our starters. I won't even mention their actual starters. Honestly, someone needs to check their birth certificates. No one looks below the age of 30 lol. Regardless, they just have bigger and more athletic offensive linemen.
- Bama's OL is excellent at pass blocking. Better than their run blocking at this point.
- Bama's RBs, especially #8, look like they just live in the weight room. All look big and fast in person.
- Schematically, anyone who tells you Bama is just lining up and beating people is lying or blind. They are scheming ways to get their players in open space for what seems like pitch and catch for easy 5+ yard gains. They constantly have players in motion pre-snap. Everything they do is efficient and done with a purpose.
- Bama's WRs are better than ours overall. Furthermore, they block just as well as ours, if not, better. I'm getting off the "Dugans is elite" hype train.
- Bama's defensive line is full of monsters like their offensive line. Big and athletic.
- Bama plays with more discipline than we do. They play a cleaner game overall.
- Tua is deadly accurate. He threw an out route in the first quarter that was thrown when the receiver was just breaking to the outside and hit the WR dead in the numbers. I was used to our QBs launching the ball into the stands or right into the dirt on similar routes. His accuracy was extremely impressive.

I want to acknowledge @Dwinstitles and what he has been saying for what feels like years about recruiting. He has been on the money about our lack of recruiting monsters in the trenches. We are severely behind the elites in this regard. This is by far the biggest difference I noticed between us and Bama. Respect for him for never backing off of this point.

A few points about Oklahoma:

- Kyler Murray is quick as f-uck. Faster in person then he is on T.V. I was impressed with how shifty he was as well. He also throws a very nice ball.
- The WR Lamb looks to be the real deal. He has prototypical NFL size. Knows how to use his body to shield defenders off and make tough catches look easy.

Overall, I knew UM was way way way behind Bama but it's an even larger gap than I even realized. We are a hundred light years away at this point. I don't want to harp on this too much but the program needs to be completely cleaned out and rebuilt. I am speaking from the top all the way to the bottom. Don't let anyone tell you we are going to compete with these guys with Blake as our AD and Richt as our HC. This is nothing short of b-ull****.

Don't discount good old genetics and a biology. Alabama and Clemson have recruited superior athletes across the board, a S and C coaches dream material. It's no different than other position coaches, there's no big secret the guys at Bama know that guys at Syracuse or UAB don't. They have an unlimited budget to get what is the most cutting edge, but they have the best cellular matter also. Don't discount that.

I don't care who you hire, you're not going to build Tyler Gauthier into blocking like a Bama or Clemson C/OL. Won't happen.

It doesn't matter, Alabama and Clemson are in a different class from the rest of college football. OU and ND aren't bad teams, they're very good college teams. Bama and Clemson are NFL Lite teams.

Saban has had a first round draft pick from every position except QB, and guess what? That's going to change next year.

Our program was feminized and Clintonized ,(Hillary-style) because of Shalala. (Latter is imposition of political correctness.) Imagine Shalala wearing headset on sidelines....did she stroll through locker room, too?

Just reading up on Ostarine and steroids...does Bama have drug testing?

I don't think it's required to have a program.

Read that gynecostomacia or whatever it is is a side-effect. I remember some of those Bama linemen in years past with excessively droopy *******. Saw it during NFL combine weigh-in.

I have no idea what goes on in college football these days but are the better teams getting so big and fast by using extra help?

EDIT: Have to agree, Bama guys including RBs looked like monsters. Maybe we'll know something more when their ex-players start dropping dead of brain cancer in their 50's. By then it will be too late to stop Saban. It helped us during JJ's era, I'm pretty sure.

watching Bama and Clemson tonight and then comparing either one of them with the team we saw get reamed by the cow milkers in Yankee Stadium clearly proved that Miami is light years away from even thinking about being in the CFP.

it's pathetic to read posts where some poor ******* in fantasyland talks about how "Coach X would kill it with Miami's
athletes". Miami does not have a roster than can even BEAT DUKE ! Face facts.

Miami needs to be rebuilt from the ground up and needs a HC with the PROVEN skill to do a job like that. Anyone less
than that is only going to be more of the same pointless bull**** we have watched for the last 25 years - a Miami team spinning in circles going nowhere and being embarrassed by Wisconsin.
The best south Florida athletes go to Bama now....somewhat of an exaggeration but look how they poached best WRs: Cooper, Ridley, Jeudy.

SEC coaches the best DBs.

Can't keep Sony Michel at home.
