Looking at the CFP

watching Bama and Clemson tonight and then comparing either one of them with the team we saw get reamed by the cow milkers in Yankee Stadium clearly proved that Miami is light years away from even thinking about being in the CFP.

it's pathetic to read posts where some poor ******* in fantasyland talks about how "Coach X would kill it with Miami's
athletes". Miami does not have a roster than can even BEAT DUKE ! Face facts.

Miami needs to be rebuilt from the ground up and needs a HC with the PROVEN skill to do a job like that. Anyone less
than that is only going to be more of the same pointless bull**** we have watched for the last 25 years - a Miami team spinning in circles going nowhere and being embarrassed by Wisconsin.

Absofrigginlutely Kempo ! Butch is already doing miracles for lowly FIU and the Butch haters around here are too stupid to
even see that.

Things are backwards. Mork should be over at FIU and we should have Butch here.

when a miracle happened and Fat Al was fired and the job was open, Butch made no secret about how much he wanted the job and he publicly said he would take only 1 million per year. He would be in year 3 and Miami would look like a
Rolls Royce instead of the rusted out wreck in front of some hillbilly's trailer.

Man, we got work to do. These teams all look physically and of course schematically better.

All of Bama and Clemson players look like NFL caliber from top to bottom, and before we chime in on the deer antler spray theory, we used to look the same way in our hey day.

We need a complete make over. I was looking at Bama’s running backs and they all drive w their legs. The point of attack in the trenches on both sides was awesome to see. Pretty sure they are not doing just mat drills to get these results. Lol.

This Miami team needs a complete do over, man. I don’t know what regimen they put DJ on but that chit needs to go. Lol. Same w Shaq; Shaq went from a thumper to bouncing off people.

So much work that needs to be done, and it glares uncontrollably when u watch other teams.
Felder needs to go. Close friend of mine who played DT at PSU when Gus was on strength staff there and then drafted by Seahawks basically said he can’t get the OL and DL where it needs to be to for us to compete in trenches. Said we won’t be “back” with him S&C coach. I trust his word. Just look at the lack of push we get on OL...we engage and then pushed backwards.... this won’t change with Felder... to me thats where alot of our problems start...

Bama plays a 3-4. The scheme commands bigger defensive lineman. 4-3 defense allows for quicker, smaller players to be utilized.
Edit: On the Clemson note, our DL is the same size

Disagree, their DT’s are noticeably bigger than ours

All of Clemson's DT's EXCEPT Dexter Lawrence are 300-315. Lawrence is fat, and 350 but he moves with it so its fine.
Ford/Tito are both 300, Willis is 298 but nobody cares because it works for him. Nesta is 305 and Miller is 325. Pat Bethel is literally the only one who you can say is "too small", but even then, Chad Thomas did damage taking snaps from DT at the same weight.
What matters more than that, is their explosion, squats, and arm strength. You can't tell that from looking at someone, because tons of players can over power the opposing team but may not look like it. Ereck Flowers didn't look chiseled, and didn't rule the weight room here (yes, he did amazing at the combine), but in the NFL a bunch of DE's said he was one of the strongest tackles they've ever went up against.

I never said any of our guys were too small, I’m saying that Clemson’s starting DT’s are noticeably bigger than ours. Tito, Willis and Bethel are all 3T’s weighing somewhere between 280-300. Wilkins is 6-4, 315 and Lawrence is 6-4, 350.

Your friend may be right. Gus's mentor is one of those HIT Manifesto guys. Many in the business say HIT is not a good way to train athletes for explosive sports especially the style his mentor taught. Sounds familiar huh? Not many explosive plays. Guess where Gus's mentor is hanging out these days? The correct answer is Miami, FL. I'm not saying this is how Gus is training our guys because I don't think it is, but I'm not sure Gus is the best guy to teach the more explosive concepts, some of which are pretty technical lifts.

I don’t think it’s fair to compare our size to bama’s on a S&C tip. That’s a recruiting issue. They recruit fully grown man-childs while we have to settle for recruits with the size of a HS JV player (Harley), and pudgy butterball olineman (Mahoney)

We're miles way from the Top 2, but then so is everyone else.

We could sneak into that Playoff picture with a good coach though.
