"Look Under the Hood"

Patke is listed as OLB coach
Baker as ILB coach

Which ever of the two is the lead dog for LBs is beside the point. The poster said Diaz had failed as a position coach. He hasn't coached LBs since 2018. And when he did coach LBs, they were played quite well.
There is no olb in this defense lol.

He's an accomplished coach..no doubt...look at his resume.

But he is also guilty of fostering some pretty bad environments. He's not fooling anybody.

He was able to manage those guys and win at all cost. If not for the Saban machine he would be even more successful.

How often have character issues off the field sunk talented teams. He was able to control miscreants and win anyway. Strong leaders like Saban, Bowden, and Jimmy Johnson can do that.

I did not say that. I said Diaz does not coach his unit well. Diaz is the head coach and was the defensive coordinator and is the defacto defensive coordinator.

The amount of improvement of the defense from D'Nofrio to Diaz in 2016 was almost unprecedented. 2015- 77th in ppg allowed. 2016- 12th. Rarely see a turn around that fast. Then in 2017, Diaz's defense carried Miami to its first 10 win season in a decade plus, was top 3 in havoc and 28th in points allowed. Then 2018, 18th (4th in total yards). Diaz coached his unit just fine. You are spouting nonsense.

I disagree wholeheartedly. He won until 2009 came. He realized players like Chris Rainey weren't gonna be Percy Harvin 2.0. He signed John Brantley out of Ocala. He was very highly rated, but he was NOT a spread option QB. Urban realized he didn't luck out like he did when he had those 2 classes where he signed guys like Tebow, Harvin, John Brown, etc. He didn't have the horses to compete....whether Bama was present or not. Look at UF teams during Muschamp's era. They had some talent, but not like they did from 2006 to 2008. ALOT of the players that Meyer won with were recruited by Ron Zook.

Look at his HC career
2 years at Bowling Green. He won, but he didn't recruit the super majority of the players he won with

2 years at Utah. See above

Florida....Ron Zook left the cupboard full and Urban hit a hot streak for 2-3 recruiting classes, then the wheels fell off

Ohio St...again, he inherited alot of talent and Urban won. He recruited well...and it shows...even after he left. However, questionable ethics hurt Urbie again

Well not every coach can get the top 1% of 1% of players like Urby. What a bullspitter. ***** the Gaytors and ***** the Fickeyes.

Coach urban is right! Even if you want to make to NFL while you have that U on you need to give everything you have to it! That’s why i hate Star chasing find or teach those kids about loving the U and putting on for the U and player besides them! I’ll never forget that last Baltimore team that won a Super Bowl they were not super talented and had holes but they played for each other and had Ed reed and raw Lewis as glue guys getting the best from every player! We can be that as well
