"Look Under the Hood"

Any chance for Cliffs Notes version?

Accountability, Trust between coaches and players in the locker room, and being selfless. In short he says there needs to be a winning culture in the locker room.

Looking “under the hood” for him is there is an internal reason why players are playing bad or coaches are not getting the most out of the players. There’s always something underlying that causes that disconnect rather than the talent itself.

FINALLY, we’re be real here , under the hood isn’t good we still have a lot of ME players going on on this team.

The polls sees it
Vegas sees it

We MUST dump this NOT MY CHILD syndrome we have and if we don’t a RECKONING is coming soon and it may be in WF and NC games.

THIS MEANS PLAYERS AND COACHES NEED TO PURGE THIS INFESTATION OF “ PRIDE”

REPLACE IT FAST WITH

PASSION ( LOVE ) to fight for your brothers sacrifice body and soul for them IS THE ONLY FIX.

IMO, selfishness is the key. If you have players that will do the dirty work - like blocking, running quality routes, the little things that contribute to winning close games, you will be successful. However, if you have too high a percentage of guys who are looking to pad a NFL resume for a big $$$ day, your team will pay the price for it.

Unfortunately, Miami has had too many guys focused on getting that NFL payday instead of focusing on team goals each year. This explains the large number of early entries to the NFL draft - even though they are day 2 or 3 draft picks, some not drafted at all. Everyone wants to play as early as possible, but the key is finding guys who are willing to put in the work as underclassmen - play special teams, get some game experience during the year - so they will be ready to be called upon as starters in their junior and senior years.

Urban is a bit full of it though when it comes to players. Yes, you need to have players to be elite. You can't have the 75th rated recruiting class each season and expect to consistently be a top 10 team.

Urban is one of the best to do it so I dont want to just say that hes wrong, but hes saying this assuming that the coaches are sane. Mark Donofrio, Mark Richt, and Manny Diaz dont coach their units the right way. At all. Manny plays upperclassmen over underclassmen. Seniority or talent. Urban and the greats dont do that, and the great coaches struggle to realize the reality of bad coaches.

He also wont acknowledge the parity in talent at the college level. Hes a great coach, but his success was 100% dependent on getting the best players money could buy.

Bubba Bolden has become a me player for sure. Phillips kicking that fsu guys helmet was very selfish as well.

He’s not saying all coaches are equal. He’s pointing at a different issue that is pften the underlying problem.
