Didn’t Mario recruit him to Oregon?

Was 3rd in snaps last season for BYU LBs. About 200 snaps behind the top two LBs.

Sounds like he was also going to be potentially splitting snaps at MLB with a younger LB that flashed last year but was injured.

Still seems like a solid player but wouldn’t get crazy hyped about him being a difference maker. Probably just a solid guy with experience to have in the rotation.

Boise State LB Andrew Simpson
Andrew Simpson
is scheduled to visit North Carolina, Syracuse and Purdue next week, a source tells On3. He posted 45 tackles, three sacks and three forced fumbles in 2024. USC is another school in the mix.

BYU WR Keelan Marion
BYU wide receiver and return specialist Keelan Marion officially entered the transfer portal on Saturday night. Marion is expected to command interest from a range of top-25 programs, but sources tell On3 that Texas would like to add a return specialist this spring if possible. Miami has also made an offer and is in the market for a wideout. The Hurricanes are expected to be a top contender. Marion returned two kickoffs for touchdowns last season.

Syracuse WR Trebor Pena
Trebor Pena
is coming off a visit to Penn State, and sources have told On3 that the Nittany Lions sit in a good spot. There’s no question that Pena would elevate the Penn State wide receiver room and give Drew Allar a top passing game target. Both sides feel good after the visit. Miami and Texas Tech remain schools to watch.

Boise State DL Braxton Fely
Coming off a trip to Cal, Braxton Fely is scheduled to visit Miami this week. The Hurricanes are a top contender despite getting Fely’s second visit.

Kansas State CB Noah King
Miami is set to land the first visit for Noah King, his agent told On3 on Saturday. King will visit the Hurricanes this week, putting Mario Cristobal’s program in a good spot to land the former four-star.
