Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

Favorite DT that cycle & until Scott committed at the last hour to save that class, him choosing Oklahoma made me feel like we were capped & would never be able to reach that upper room of recruiting.

But this feels like he's just holding Oklahoma's feet to the fire so they pony up & he can stay where he wants to be. Using us to up the bag.

It worked once why not try it again
Isn’t he officially in the portal? Once in, that’d be it. A spring portal can’t go within the conference in the SEC. Does that count for your current/prior team as well?

Yo find a way to sign stone and the kid from Cuse and you can make up for the fact that we’ve recruited DT as poorly as we have. Here’s your chance Mario.
Agree on Stone. Even if his freshman year wasn’t as big as expected, he’s still young and was just so **** good at IMG his senior year.

The Syracuse WR - Miami’s been pretty successful being patient in the portal, and he’s just the first real big name at that position this spring. We’ll see.

Maybe it’s as simple as he already was regretting his decision to go there then they asked him to take a pay cut? So that was the last straw? I hope so.

I’m talking about the other DT from Cuse that just entered. Gives us a chance to flip the DT room

Lol I think that's wishful thinking as it doesn't seem so. A quick search suggests no it doesn't count for going back to your school.

Stone was my favorite DT that cycle, but I’d rather take the Syracuse kid if we are being honest. He’d probably be cheaper too. BUT, I wouldn’t be opposed to this either, for the right price. We need all the big depth we can attain.
A 5 star player who transfers after not playing his freshman season usually never turns out good. I believe at the absolute most you offer him half of what you were coming out of high school. It's very risky but if the money is right it might be worth it.

Stone and Scott basically had identical freshman years , played the same amount of snaps and had identical stat lines

Stone could still be a great player just maybe wasn’t a ready made guy. Most linemen aren’t. That being said he will be pricey
DT take at least a year to develop, is not like he. Had a major injury

"Bert Auburn" sounds like the spaghetti western version of James Bond.
