I really think Toney can earn PT at slot this year.Add a slot wr/return man. There is Ray Ray, but it’s his 3rd year, if he can’t be a main contibutor this year, he won’t ever be.

Seems like he would fit right in at ColoradoHow can all that happen within roughly 48 hrs
I like Beck more if he had two functioning armsPeople ragging Beck, and Ewers looked worse to me in the 3 UTx games I watched. If it were between the two, I'd take healthy Beck every time.
Actually he was a diva about getting busted for using a fake ID at a Washington dispensary because he’s not 21.He was involved in fights and missing workouts. You don't want him lol
between he or the Bama kid.I really think Toney can earn PT at slot this year.
Yep. We have lots of guys who can play in the slot but reliable outside guys not so much.between he or the Bama kid.
I dont think we need a slot. I think we actually need height.
For sure, but if he gets a significant amount of PT that means guys like Ny Carr and Ray Ray didn’t take that next step. For this offense to produce similar to last year it’s best to never a a proven, dynamic slot WR/return man that has experience and physically more developed. Thus not throwing Toney into the fire.I really think Toney can earn PT at slot this year.
Are we really sure that Toney can come in as a reclassified kid and play significant snaps as a true freshman?
I love his upside, just not sure of the immediate contribution aspect. How old is he again?
Carr I think can play the role of Jacolby George, meaning he can get it done on the outside. In regard to Ray Ray, meh I think he could legit move to RB if needed. For sure, but if he gets a significant amount of PT that means guys like Ny Carr and Ray Ray didn’t take that next step. aren’t they different types of wrs - Williams was able to play outside due to his size and speed. Toney will have to play more slot, no? And playing the slot I think the muscle/physicality aspects are more required, yes?Same age as Ryan Williams as a true freshman?
Edit: sorry, Tony, just saw your post.
Iirc Toney will be 18 by the time the season starts.Same age as Ryan Williams as a true freshman?

The big part is your first sentence. I’m making the assumption he would be used as a slot. I’m not sure how playing qb helps/hinders his abiilty to acclimate in the short term.I don't know how Toney will be used, specifically. Let's not forget, he also played quarterback.
Also, at this age, there may yet be a growth spurt (pause).
As for comparatives, Ryan Williams is listed at 6'0" and 176 pounds. 247 lists Malachi Toney at 5'10.5" and 182 pounds.
Soooo...similar?

I love this kid’s potential. Think it may be a year before he is a major contributor. And nobody will be happier if I’m wrong on this.
