Does AP poll now adjust for the talent Texas has lost on defense?

This is definitely the make or break year for Sark. If he goes 8-4 again, heâs toast. And when your head coach talks up his own team as much as he does, he only adds more pressure and expectations. Mario just says, âshut up and go to work.â - meaning, last year donât mean squat, and just because you were a star on last yearâs team doesnât mean you canât get passed up by a freshman if youâre getting outworked in practice. I donât think thatâs a thing at Texas and some of these other big programs that donât bring it in practice like Miami does. If youâre handing/promising a starting job to a portal or high school player because you gave him a big fat NIL check, youâve already put yourself behind the 8 ball. Not only will that player not give 100% in practice, but the players behind him in that room wonât bring it either because they know they ainât starting anyways. So when you spend the kind of cash Texas has, that can snowball very quickly.I sure donât have any inside knowledge of whatâs going on within the Texas football team, it may not be as bad as it seems, or it may be worse than it seems. Or something in between.
But based on what we can deduce from a couple of social media posts and rumors if even itâs partially true, it certainly is not a good situation.
The proof will be how they perform versus expectations in their first few games. They have two easily winnable cupcakes, and Ohio State and Tennessee for the first 4 games. I think we should have a better idea after that.
I donât buy much into the off field rumors that has social media in a uproar, but Arch not taking that next step is a concern.I sure donât have any inside knowledge of whatâs going on within the Texas football team, it may not be as bad as it seems, or it may be worse than it seems.
