Guys as the title says I have been a reader for ever and finally feel like posting.

Thanks for all the great info over the years.

One thing I was thinking about considering all the bashing of Richt and his play calling etc. We all want someone new to call plays and are frustrated with what's going on but how does that happen.

As I understand it Brown is the CO OC right? He has no play calling experience and was given that title along with the grooming from Richt. So how does Richt hire someone from outside and demote his hand picked boy?

That's not going to happen so we are screwed. Brown can recruit and coach up the RB no doubt but a slap in his face with a new OC might have him finding greener pastures and I don't think Richt has the balls to do it.

Anyone consider this scenario? there will be no drastic changes to the OC position because Richt set himself up to be the only one with experience.
Love the sight and once again thanks for all the info over the years.

You're right. If Richt ever does step down as OC, the likely replacement is Brown or...(gasp) Jon Richt.

We are eventually going to have to decide whether we continue to let some of richts decisions hijack our program. I agree with you, we wont have a new OC and Brown here at the same time. My hope is CMR will eventually see the writing on the wall (seeing how it's the exact same situation from UGA I cant see him being obvious to it) and let's Brown show what he can do as more than just an OC in title alone.

The offensive coordinator doesn't have to call plays. It's just a title. You can divvy up the play-calling responsibilities however you want. He can keep his title and not call plays. ****, you can have three Co-OC's with one of them also being the QB coach.

If Brown and Dugans are smart and truly want to advance their careers, they'd welcome another offensive mind and system in the building bc the **** they're learning from Richt right now ain't gonna cut it.

There is absolutely no reason to let the fear of losing an assistant stop Richt from upgrading.

This offense is doing harm to these assistant coaches’ resumes. They need a real OC, because right now their body of work here isn’t going to get em a better gig somewhere else.

Brown isn't taking the paycut that will come with getting stripped of the OC title and UM certainly isn't paying a positions coach coordinator money.

So, I guess if we were to bring in an OC (doubtful) then Brown would probably get the axe as a result.

Little Jonny will have the full OC title before his dad hangs up the whistle.

It's all part of Morks plan. He will be here for at least 5 more years probably 6-7. meanwhile as the corches above little Jonny leave for greener pastures slowly but surely we will see Jon being promoted up the ranks until he is OC then try and take daddy's chair when daddy is finished with his raping of the Miami treasury.

First off mfkr who you calling boy? Watch that slick shxt.

2nd Coach Thomas Brown can focus on Being a rbs coach that’s his primary focus anyway... it’s not like he’s going to run back to UGa his position has already been filled.

I actually believe Richts playcalling is a bigger issue than his playbook... I wouldn’t mind seeing Coach Brown call plays the rest of the season to see if the offense looks different.

At this point I don't think it would hurt I just feel there is no way Richt admits his failures mid season. Maybe after the season he brings in someone to help.

Come on man, you know that's not what he meant.

I don't think it goes far enough, but I agree with you in that I'd rather see something, anything, change than continue to do the same thing we've been doing. At the end of the day, though, I think we need our position coaches, who are doing a great job in TB and RD, focusing on coaching their postitions, and we need to bring in an energetic, young, creative offensive coordinator to create and call the offense. But yeah, we have to change something.

Brown getting OC money for coaching RBs is theft. He can go away and coach RBs and OC somewhere else, as far as I'm concerned. What's that? No one else would be stupid enough to pay him OC money to coach RBs? Interesting....

I'll sacrifice ANYONE on this staff outside of Manny Diaz if it means getting an experienced quality OC in here who is NOT part of Richt's coaching tree.
