LOL, OK here it is, todays presser from Manny Diaz...

Was Baker the right hire I think almost all will say NO, I don’t care that he’s coming from a smaller program so there’s a learning curve, he has the players to be very successful he needs motivate them and let them loose on teams.

Was Enos the right hire, I honestly don’t know. The O-line has been so bad that we haven’t seen his offense run properly. His play calling has been pretty suspect that’s more of a fact than an opinion. JW is averaging 29 attempts per game, that’s unacceptable for a team with the receiving talent this team has; let’s see him averaging 40+ per game and have him hammering receivers at 7-12 yards.

Manny Diaz says all the right things and as the HC he’s the one who’s record is 2-2. I’ve got no problem with him calling out the players and demanding improvement, I’ll be even more impressed when he starts calling out himself and other coaches.

You are blaming Manny Diaz for taking a job Flake Shames should not have offered him.

Like you, I thought the hire was rushed as ****. And if you ask me, UM HC is not a job for a rookie college coach to cut his teeth. But it's not Manny's fault that Flake is a **** fool getting hustled out there, nor does it mean Manny can't learn quickly and rise to the occasion.

Now that it is Manny's job, notwithstanding the fact that I did not like the process that hired him, I will set that **** aside and judge him by the product on the field. And that'll be a measured approach, over time. Not crazy, knee-jerk reactions based on unreasonable expectations and hurt feelings.
Based on “field results” he’s bad, and he’s a worse recruiter

If Williams doesn’t get sacked and fumbles vs. VT we don’t have this discussion. If Pope doesn’t drop that wide open pass vs. Virginia, we don’t have this discussion. If JT doesn’t trip on his shoe lace vs. FSU, we don’t have this discussion.

You must break the non-comformers. The OL should be running gassers until they puke.
Unless it’s out there and I missed it, I’d like to know what he made them do yesterday, before the presser that he said they’re gonna be talking about it to future recruits.

Again, like Shannon and so many we have discussed, a green new head coach IN THEORY should have experience around him. Enos fits that mold, whether we love his play calling all the time. Fact is, he is limited with a ****** OL and an inexperienced QB.

Baker was the mistake early on. These moves always appear to be about self, like Richt not being willing to hire an OC at all. I would be curious the discussions on that hire. This is not a knock on Manny at all, but the urge I'm sure is there to keep his fingerprints on the defense to a degree and bring in a young "yes" man. He claims he is not doing that, but if any of that is true, why would you bring in somebody so young that has never coached at this level...just because he apparently shares your defensive philosophy?

Truthfully, it could have been a budget limitation imposed by the sad UM BOT, but I'm more convinced that it was an ego thing for Manny not wanting to bring in a DC with different ideas than him / maybe even better than him. Again, I can understand how any coach doing it for so long would want it their way, but there will be growing pains galore, if they even last.

I remember Richt, who would have NEVER done it otherwise, surrounding himself with youth.....and I knew he was likely placed in that corner by UM's cheap asses in coaching hires. With Manny and the $$$ they are saving at head coach....not so sure.

I can definitely see Manny going with someone he knows and has similar to scheme ideas to rather than taking a more established veteran DC, but as you said this also could have been about budget.

I agree Enos has been limited by a bad O-line, but I’d like to see more quick hitting passes in the 4-7 and 8-12 yd ranges and maybe use tempo to offset the lack of push from the O-line at the very least let JW set up in the pistol and shotgun more often to give him an extra second to throw.

There’s time for improvement this season and as with all coaches usually the major change is years 2-3. I like Manny and his attitude I hope fans can understand change takes time.
