LOL CHARLIE STRONG

he set up to fail regardless they like miami in texas, kids in sfla where his strength is wont go to texas.

He lost Hurtt, therefore he lost his recruiting advantage.

I posted about this in another thread, but this theory makes no sense. Strong didn't win by signing highly recruited players. He won by evaluating sleepers:

DeVante Parker- 3*
Calvin Pryor- 3*
Preston Brown- 3*
Marcus Smith- 3*
Lorenzo Maudlin- 3*
John Miller- 3*
Jamon Brown- 3*
Charles Gaines - 3*
Bryant Dubose- 3*

Ummmm......no

He "won" by playing in a shell of a conference after all the good teams were gone and after a 5 star Heisman QB went there.

The guys greatest achievement was beating Will Muschamp.

Bridgewater was not a 5* dawg. Didn't even have that many big offers.

I think Charlie is just before coming out of the toaster..'
Texas ain't gonna wait like the "U" did..

Ummm he was considered one of the top QB recruits in the country. Rivals had him as a 4 star. More revisionist history to try to defend a reaaaallllly mediocre coach.

This.

Great job encapsulating Strong's lightning in a bottle one-year success that he leveraged into one of the best jobs in CFB. He's now getting exposed week-in and week-out.

He was a 4-star by every site. He had offers from Louisville, Miami, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Rutgers, USF. He was the #6 QB in the nation by Rivals. The #23 player in the state by Rivals and the #113 player in the nation by Rivals. 247 listed him as the #5 QB in the nation, the #20 player in Florida, and #100 player in the nation. He had a 94.9 ranking by 247. He was pretty good coming out.

If he can't win in texas, I doubt he can win here unless he has another Bridgewater

You're right. The #2 ranked scoring defense had nothing to do with it. And the fourteen players picked in the last two drafts, they had nothing to do with it either.

It was only about his quarterback. And he shouldn't get any credit for landing him, either. Bridgewater was a Louisville lock since birth. He had a Johnny Unitas poster on his wall.

And let's forget about the elite defenses he built at Florida and South Carolina. Those defenses would never have been successful in a real conference.

Anybody talking about charlie strong for miami is not a miami fan he justbgot shytt on by a bunch of two stars with no offers in iowa state... he gets blown out in every loss. He lost to mario cristobal and fiu. He can be a defensive cordinator thats it
