Yeah because committees and the BCS have been so good to Miami. Anyone that didn’t have big concerns about those guys choosing us over Bama or ND was naive . It worked out and I was wrong but this had nothing to do with being scared or a *****. It’s 47 years of seeing Miami getting f’d. That said I had us in until bama lost and figured the elites would get the elite treatment
 
I thought Miami would be screwed.

I am glad I was wrong.

It’s all perspective. I didn’t think the Bama game was going to have an impact, but I wasn’t confident of any outcome, positive or negative.

What did keep my positive side alive, is that there seemed to be a logical and increasing groundswell of legacy media and social media sentiment for Miami over the last few days. That committee may be made up of out of touch, Depends-wearing fools, but they know which way the wind blows. And maybe they paid attention - who knows.
 
I usually don’t watch stuff like that at all. But I faced it head on this afternoon and didn’t turn it off. When that U appeared my children rushed me with hugs even the 4 year old, they could feel the tension in the air and saw my eyes well up 🥹 with relief.

There was nothing wrong with believing we’d get screwed, we all thought it was a great chance we would. It wasn’t about anyone being 100% sure we’d make it. It was about some dudes clowning those who believed (and could articulate why), for not taking on their 100% disbelief. If you didn’t do that then U cool.

From my life experiences and my family’s history I knew that people in control and with bad intentions will wait for the last moment to do the right thing. Them not honoring H2H never shook me. I knew they were holding out until anything came about to relieve them of the duty to abide by the protocols they created themselves. There was nowhere to hide and the social media and tv analysts pressure was instrumental. The landslide of proof being broadcasted in our favor all week, forced their hands. I wasn’t shaken until the comments made by Dinnich and Herbstreit (said it was between Bama and ND), and the lack of mention of Bama’s loss to FSU during the selection show pre announcement.

If there was no internet or social media, we wouldn’t be in today. Hunter was visibly salty. Their hands were forced.
