Bringing back the old (sometimes rather "old") coach to relive their past glory is a fool's errand, and never turns out the way you dreamed it would.
In college or the NFL:

It didn't work out for Bill Walsh and Stanford ….
It didn't work out for Chuck Knox and the Rams ….
It didn't work out for Mark Whipple and UMass ….
It didn't work out for Joe Gibbs and the Redskins ….
It didn't work out for Bobby Petrino and Louisville ….
And it's not going to be so great for UNC either. Can't believe they would be that delusional … then again, maybe I do. The good news is that UNC is going to flounder for the next few years until they figure that out. Good riddance.
