Little mistakes cost games

And something else about line play: the Canes KNOW that this clown car conference is going to call them for holding and not Louisville. As long as Tobacco Road runs this conference, we can't give these crooked ACC refs the chance to call holding on our offensive linemen and kill drives.

Yet we did, several times last night, and set us back ten yards a pop. We know that the ACC hates us but we let them call holding on us anyway!

The fake fg was the most obvious play I ever seen I was screaming it was a fake at the tv. Like they have nothing to lose and three there was a win for us. But sure enough we didn’t know

Falling for the fake FG cost us 7 points
Watch the two outside rushers, they didn't fall for it, both held up and played outside. The issue was no one taught them how to play speed option.
Def 2a.png

Dude needs to be in the middle and play both. Taking the pitch man allowed the keep and not a single Miami player knew it was 'and 2' vs 'and goal' which is coaching + FB IQ

After it was clear that Brohm was scheming and using trickery on that first drive, I wonder why it didn’t occur to our coaches that they may attempt a fake FG??

Mario actually said in his presser we had a good call for the fake fg. Lol

In the presser, Mario made it sound like we didn't execute on the fake FG, and we had a play called to defend it. Looked to me like they had us outnumbered 4-3.
I don’t know. At that point, you’re happy to concede 3 points after Brohm pulled out all the stops and you tell your defense to just defend the fake whether it’s a handoff, drop back pass, whatever. Maybe someone with more knowledge than me can break down our defensive alignment on that play. Maybe it was just Brohm being a genius.

We shouldn’t have lost last night. Beck should not have thrown for INT’s, coaches should’ve had team better prepared and we were outcoached.

That said you all need to reset your college football mindset because the days of many teams going undefeated and not having some type of **** game whether this overt or otherwise are truly **** over. If there are two or three tops in the power 4 I would be surprised. I just thought Miami would be one of them if Mario could avoid a game like this which apparently he can’t.

Now that things are not fully in our hands, we have to, of course hope for carnage within the ACC, but also, and I don’t know how to break it to you guys optics matter and strength of record does so there are teams that we all hate that for selfish reasons as much as it might pain you the more they win the better off we are

It’s taken longer than most have liked but Cristobal has continued to change things when needed and stop trends. Let’s see if this roster is different and the late season blow up is in the past. Win out. First goal is no hangover/slow uninspiring start vs Stanford. Need to win convincingly.

He has lost 1-2 games every single year as a double digit fave at Oregon and Miami, which is now 9 straight years.

Sorry to inform you, that is a horrific trend that has not changed, nor will it ever. Why? Because he is one of the worst Xs and Os coaches in all of CFB, so he will always be at a severe disadvantage and lose to opposing teams who's HC have schematic advantages more often than not.

At UM alone he has lost 6 games as a double digit fave and 10 games overall as a fave. Most of any HC during that time. This is year 4, with a loaded squad and it is still occurring. It will NEVER change with him at the helm.

I was watching at a sports bar and called it immediately. Even after they called the TO, I still told me friends it was coming. Mario claimed they had the right defense and just didn't make the play.

Me too. I checked and the fake VTech ran against us last year was to the same side. Thought they would have gotten that one too had Bryant not made a great play beating the OLman off the snap, because they also had numbers to that side. Maybe Coach meant Damari should have forced the pitch against UL? Does appear that multiple teams saw tape of our FG defense and decided we were light on the same side and ran fakes.

Stop with the mid tier nonsense. Are we more talented than them? Yes. Is it a G5 team? Nope. This is CFB in 2025. Same reason fsu beat Bama week 1. You can lose any week if you don’t show up.

No different than OSU losing to Michigan last year.
These dudes really think we are unbeatable in the ACC like it’s the C-USA or something lol

Add the fact the same blitz by Scott was easy to see....along with poor tackling, poor blocking all over, bad execution, bad play calling on both sides, QB deer in headlights, DL/ LB horrible run/pass support, DBs not paying attention etc....

Bad game all around... championship teams don't play like that ...
