Listen good: It's not really about the UM Head Coach!

If tomorrow we put in a new indoor practice facility, upped the workout rooms, bought more UAV's to film practice, and in general put $50,000,000 into the program, that is NOT going to translate into a 10-2 or 11-1 season next year.

If the coach suks asss, facilities don't win games.

Get Butch, start winning games and getting in the playoffs, and they'll see increased revenues and donations - which THEN can be applied to facility improvement.

****!. How hard is this?

Miami needs newer facilities and a new coaching staff. Both are in dire need of improving. HC is the one that needs to be fixed now. Then the facilities afterwards.

THIS. Leavitt started usf out of a trailer on a borrowed field. Had them in top ten pretty consistently before he left

This talk of facilities is so stupid. Sure, there are some things it would be better if UM had them.

But if you can force yourself, watch some games from last year again. The facilities that seem to be missing from UM's program are a film room and a chalkboard. The players don't understand their roles, AND their roles were poorly designed.

Once that gets fixed, people can properly assess the need for a smoothie bar.

Keys to success good football coaches, A good S&C coach and a top notch training staff = wins. First thing first, competent staff = Increase wins = more revenue/donations = more facilities = more recruits = more wins. **** is synergistic but it starts with a winner in charge. And I'm talking on the field winner, not winning a set of steak knives for selling the most fiats in a month.

My take is that squatting 500 with in a ragged facility = squaring 500 in a new facility.

Anyone who argues facilities matter that much never saw the rocky IV training sequence and we all know how that turned out for Ivan drago.

What do facilities and money have to do with lining up safeties 12 yds deep when Ga. Tech has the ball 1st and goal from the 3???

Can't understand why Highsmith would say this, when Michigan and Texas have some of the best resources of any program and look at them.

The real lack of commitment by the Adm. is not investing in a proven, quality coach and staff.

What do facilities or money have to do with a short Barrios being thrown a goal line pass rather than the tall lanky S. Coley with a chance to go up by 20 on f$u????

You guys can be so obtuse. What new coach wants to work with one hand tied behind his back?? And why doesn't anyone recall how lofty the coaching names were that circulated last time vs the names that actually considered the job?? We are low rent right now and need to get back to par if we want to compete for the best coaches and recruits. Any and all assistance should be appreciated. Banners ain't gonna fix this ****.

Ultimately the facilities have to improve, but it comes down to people at the end of the day.

People recruit, develop, and coach. Facilities can't do that.

If Butch had the 4 years Al had, we would probably be in the playoffs this year, facilities or not.

What Alonzo is saying"You get what you pay for."Ole Miss HC just agreed to $4.3 mil, that twice what you are paying Golden.
Until the fans show up at games, that trend will continue. And don't give me that crap,we will show up when the U starts winning.
Many schools fill their stadiums;ie Nebraska,ND,Iowa &Tenn, all who had less than good years.

The commitment by the Adm. needs to go to hiring a proven staff. Facilities can come after. Getting the right people in place is the key.

The fan support you see from the schools you mentioned has a lot to do with few entertainment options.

Miami has to have a good product for fans to want to go. Right now it's almost unwatchable.

Butch Davis would boost attendance right away.

Bravo to Alonzo for being proactive. And of course he isn't going to dog Golden. Al was pretty good to his son while at UM.
Deep down i think Alonzo would tell you Al isn't a good fit for Miami... but his message was pretty clear here. From the top down we need major changes.

Big Highsmith fan
