So Young is done. Appears Grace is done. Owens is coming off ACL surgery. Okay this is a tough spot. Barring injury . . . we can't shirt any linebackers. I can actually say with a straight face that starting 3 frosh LBs isn't ideal, but if there ever was a year to do it, this is it. Here is what I am actually freaked out about: We have 7 healthy linebackers and 1 coming back from injury. 3 true frosh, 1 rs fresh, 2 rs soph, 1 true soph, and a junior . . . and its the depth I'm freaked out about. Special teams will take a hit. I don't like that either.

With all the spread teams in football, might be better off just playing a 4-2-5 anyway.

Use Jenkins as the deep safety, then Carter and J Johnson as the weak and strong safeties, with Quarterman and Owens/Pinckney at the LB spots.

Problem is that safety isn't deep either. It's just Knowles and the FR after the starting 3.

This is probably what we'll need to do. We'll be playing a lot of nickel. Problem is you can't play nickel all the time due to match ups

If any team other than Miami were losing two of their starting LB's and were forced to start 3 freshmen linebackers, you would be talking about how screwed they were and how Kaaya and company were gonna rip them to shreds.

You have been around so you know reserve linebackers play a lot of special teams. We have 7-8 linebackers. If any get hurt on special teams it further hurts us. You are optimistic we are fine. I hope you are right.

Don't need 12. We have 7-8. Some will play special teams. Your references, nice, but they didn't play special teams later in their careers.

UM fans are fearful. It's the new state of UM football. They spend most of their time looking for dark clouds and reasons why we might be fcked.

Fact of the matter is we have plenty of talent at LB. Only a couple will be on the field most of the time. It's up to Diaz to get the most out of them.

Expectation is to win 10 and the Coastal this year. How many teams in the Coastal are loaded with experienced studs 3 deep at LB? I'm going to go out on a limb and say none.
