Like it or not, fair or not…

Problem is, it’s not in their hands. People keep wanting to believe that we can style point our way into the CFP. It’s not going to happen. We could beat Pitt 85-3. It’s not gonna hop us over enough teams to get in. Only shot is to have some upsets we thought might happen this weekend, happen next weekend.
If we beat Pitt by 80 points there would be so much noise that they would have no choice but to let us in. Why are we acting like public opinion and perception doesn’t hugely matter for this stuff, it’s exactly why they work overtime on the ESPN propaganda machine.

True, but I’ve seen more opinion and perception of “Miami had their chance” than “they should be in.”

What you're missing is that we're just not good enough to name our score against a ranked team on the road, no matter how much you want to believe that "We da U!!" and can do whatever we please. I mean, outside of Ohio State, no one can do that.

Georgia Tech's defense was suspect to fraudulent all year long. The refs let them off the hook vs. WF. Duke let them off the hook with self-inflicted gunshot wounds. BC let them off the hook by being BC.

Pitt finally got em. Georgia will destroy their defense next week.

For Pitt, the matchup with us is so different than GT that there isn't much about that game that you can use to read into this one. It's just going to be an entirely different game.
One thing that stood out was Pitt inability to pass block, especially that tiny RB trying to pick up a blitz. Tech got home all night on the pass rush

I think, ideally, the committee wants both us and ND in the field.

The problem is, they don’t want to put us in over them if it comes down to one final spot. They want to, at all cost, avoid directly comparing the two teams.

So they need an out. I have the solution:

Instead of praying for chaos directly above us, we need to hope the committee moves ND up into the next comparative pool — teams #5 through #8.

Once that happens, the committee now has the green light to move us above the Big 12 teams.

We would be in the pool with teams #9 through #12, while Notre Dame remains one pool ahead of us. This allows them to get us both into the playoff while continuing to ignore/avoid the head-to-head comparison.

It’s a win-win for everyone involved. We would still need Bama or OU to lose, most likely, but our path becomes a lot easier.

My concern is, who do they move ND above? Oklahoma? They seem like the logical choice, but their resume is better than ND’s. People would lose their **** if that happened.

That’s why we need Oklahoma or Bama to lose. If ND moves up one more spot, I think we’re in.

Gentleman, let’s ******* destroy Pitt!

The mission this week is to bring hellfire on Pittsburg. A squeaky win will not be enough. We need to dominate, and beat them by a higher margin than ND did.

Do that, and I actually think there’s enough in our favor to push us into the CFP. We beat them in the first game, and in the last we beat a *recent* common opponent (and their best win) by more than they did. So this “they got better” and “it was just a starting QB” and other narrative bs becomes moot. They will have nothing.

Don’t do that and we likely get ****ed, barring a miracle stumble into the ACC champ game.

That’s the mission. Don’t care who doesn’t like it. Get it done.
We could win by 50 we are not getting in.

Not true. Optics and opinions matter. They want to do what they want to do, but can’t afford it being too blatant.
1- ohio state
2-ACC champ
3-group of 5 auto bid champ
4- indiana
5-aTm
6- georgia
7- Texas tech
8- oregon
9- Notre dame
10- ole miss
11- oklahoma
12- bama

Also:
Byu
Utah
Michigan- if they somehow beat Ohio state this week.
Vandy if they beat TN

If the number 1-12 teams (listed in no particular order) win we are not jumping any of them. If any of those other teams below finish strong we may have trouble beating them out

This committee has made it clear that they value ND and don’t trust/value Miami.

Getting in over who?

We are one of the top five teams in the country. Right now the only debate should be whether we are gonna let all the young boyz play the whole game or not and rest our starters. Man this season was the one to win it with this easy *** schedule. Another season of disappointment.

Just win n let the chips fall where they may. The absolute worst outcome would be to lose n Auburn n LSU somehow do the lords work.
