Lightfoot #12

Look ideally you want a little more mass with a WDE but between his athletic superiority, unreal motor, versatility and again surprising functional strength, this is not a player you keep off the field. Making him a situational player is a mistake.
Yeah he plays bigger than his size suggest he would for sure

NO WAY!! I need to see this ****!!

I think next year we are going to learn to love the edge spot drops that we love to hate with Mesidor this year. OSU got us twice on those with Mesidor: the Jeremiah TD in the red zone & the Tate lined up as RB swing pass in the red zone (we may have been in man on the second one, hard to tell for me).

Am curious to see if Hetherman deploys Lightfoot like OSU did with Reese a bit next year. Line him up with his hand in the dirt in bear fronts, but at LBer otherwise. I think Lightfoot was better both dropping in zone and covering backs in man than either Toure or Smith this year. We could get some super size DLs that could still rush the passer on early downs with Lowe & Blount at the ends & Scott & Moten at DT with Lightfoot stood up like Reese.

Pound for pound he's strong as ****, doesn't need much more weight maybe 10lbs or so more he'll be a terror. Crazy motor and now he's getting better with his pass rush toolbox. Probably runs in the 4.4 range when he leaves too

Man I’m telling ya M Lightfoot plays much bigger than his size…

I’m sure Coach JT takes pride in his growth and development because they sure as heck have similar builds…

I know many want a lil more weight on him but ion know man, just get stronger and keep that motor running…

The question is his ability to “consistently” set the edge in the run game. Will adding weight help with that? Yes and maybe… yes from a durability standpoint and maybe from a technique and “want to” standpoint. If he can be 85% of what Bain and Mesidor have been in the run game for us then he’ll be a good everydown DE for us next year

The entire Defense played well and K Scott earned a well deserved Defensive MVP but M Lightfoot played his 5-star tail off. It was him that even got that pressure on Sayin that lead to K Thomas game ending INT…He stayed and has been a lottery ticket for us this year and moving forward
Dude was pressing WRs lol he did it all
