Let's talk Pittsburgh

So the Frosh QB will start and if/when he falters they'll bring in the other guy? I thought they both played last week at VT? They'll be pulling out all the stops, trick plays, you name it to try & make their season. I hope we don't go out & dink around until halftime. LET'S shove the ball down their throats and get outta there.....GO CANES!

a true FR QB making his first start against us, in an empty home stadium BETTER not score more than 2 TD's vs. us..... I'm hoping for our starters to get up early on them and let our hungry 2nd/3rd teams to get some burn... 38-6 (missed extra point on their end)

Great write-up.

Will be an empty stadium due to a noon kick off thanksgiving break, all the students are home.

They have nothing to play for since they can't even make a bowl with a win.

I like your score prediction, I predict a closer game at the half, then our athleticism takes over and we cruise to a 15-20 point victory in the second half. Richt and Manny will go very vanilla to not show too much on tape.

Personally don't care how we do it, just keep this injury free and cap off the undefeated regular season.

Canes 31-13

the motivation is for this game. this is essentially their bowl game. I still expect these guys to play hard but eventually wither like most teams do against us.

Pitt will be playing a home game at noon the Friday after Thanksgiving when the majority of the student body is either at home, recovering from the night before, or shopping. The majority of the team is from PA/NJ/OH, so unless the coaches are keeping their players in for the holiday, I would not be surprised if several of their players are spending Thanksgiving with their families thinking about anything but their horribly disappointing season (while UM's players and coaches are spending the holiday together).

Friday temperature is currently a high of 47 F and a low of 39 F, and considering the game is at noon, expect it to be much closer to the high throughout the game (so mid 40s) -- by no means freezing. To the extent it is a bit cold, Pitt's got 14 guys on their roster from Florida that'll be feeling as chilly as our guys.

But most importantly, it seems like they are starting a True Freshman at QB -- who began the season as the third stringer they hoped to redshirt. Even if they don't start the Freshman (Pickett), Pitt's starting QB to begin the season was lost for the season back in October.

I remember us recruiting Saleem Brightwell. Would have been a very good player in our defense. I don't remember what ended up being the deciding factor in his recruitment. Seems like he just stayed close to home

27-3 Canes. Richt plays conservative, the cool/cold weather factors in. Homer and Dallas both go off. Homer gets enough yards for 1,000 on the season with a typical long TD run in the second half. He needs 151 yards.

Defense dominates and the turnover chain makes numerous appearances.

Pitt goes 1-2 of FGs.

Several of my Cane brethren scream at the TV despite a 24-point domination. Not enough style points.

That fg % will no doubt triple after our game =P

Dude will nail a 59 yarder falling down in the snow

Yeah, I expect them to make 150% of their field goals.
Math is hard...

So is sarcasm on a message board... that was about how they haven't missed a kick yet, not your math, or mine.

Yes I know. Just being self-deprecating. Sorry, should have added a tongue face or something to be clearer.

Terrible statistical defense? Rosier will find a way to keep it close and our O-line will be bullied at the LOS. We will give up almost 200 yards in the 1st QTR alone. We're the Cardiac Canes it what we do.

Just checked the weather for Friday. 48 & clear in Pittsburgh.
