It's the last game of the regular season for us. We have offensively started peaking. I think Miami puts up another 40 point game.

Let's talk the Pittsburgh defense first.
1. They are 82nd nationally in total defense
2. 111th in passing defense
3. 54th in rushing defense
4. 85th in sacks
5. 76th in INT's
6. 79th in Defensive Efficiency
7. 115th in FG % (Only hitting 55% of field goals)
8. Great Punter #15 in punt distance traveled

Who to watch out for

They have two outstanding linebackers in Saleem Brightwell (39) Monday.webp and Oluwaseun Idowu (23) 2.webp these two cats are good college linebackers.

This cat has some skills as a return man.

Don't sleep on Pitt this is a team that could be a few correct calls away from being a 8 win team right now.

Offensively Pitt is nothing to write home about. They benched their starter due to him being hot garbage. Miami will have a trues freshman QB making his first start against the UM defense.....this should be fun! Kenny Pickett came in the middle of the 2nd quarter against VT. His numbers were 15-23 for 242 and 1 INT. This kid can throw the ball better than the previous QB. But I like Miami's defense against a guy making his first career start.

Their running game is nothing too concerning either.

I expect Narduzzi to go for it on 4th down multiple times due to their horrible FG unit. His team has nothing to lost as this is their last game of the season. I'm thinking we get 3 picks against the true freshman and one of them going to the house. They have a great punter and I feel they will be happy to pin us inside the 10 and make Miami drive 90 yards while playing a bend don't break style of defense. Hoping to use our streakiness against us.

Overall I feel good about this game. In the mold of 49-21 Canes. I like what we are doing on offense now. Of course our OL can be a equalizer for all teams but I feel we are going to be rolling in this game with a vanilla game plan as Richt is looking to pull out all the stops like his VT and ND gameplans against Clemson.

Great write-up.

Will be an empty stadium due to a noon kick off thanksgiving break, all the students are home.

They have nothing to play for since they can't even make a bowl with a win.

I like your score prediction, I predict a closer game at the half, then our athleticism takes over and we cruise to a 15-20 point victory in the second half. Richt and Manny will go very vanilla to not show too much on tape.

Personally don't care how we do it, just keep this injury free and cap off the undefeated regular season.

Games like this, the team will play up and Miami will play down. Cold weather and looking ahead will not help things either. An early blow out win by Miami would be nice, but I don't see it happening. That's not Miami's M.O this season. I like to think it's built character for handling the big games.

1. I'm not predicting a score. I'm done with that ****. We should win by 28, but we could also win by 4 and you know what? I wouldn't care. This team can beat UNC by 5 and also beat Alabama. There, I said it. Will we beat Alabama? Who knows, but it wouldn't shock me. Anyway, Pitt is bad, they have nothing to play for, and we should roll. Therefore, I expect a close game.

2. You don't understand how happy it makes me that Pitt has also run out their old school uniforms. I only hope they trash the darker blues and golds they came out with in the 90s. These throwbacks are amazing.

I think the players will hear crap all week like they did after UNC and come out to play like they did against VT

Yeah the throwbacks are fire.
 
They use more motion than anyone in the country if I had to guess.

They play m2m on defense. I expect Richards to dominate.
 
what a waste of a post. thinking I should post on the "rumor of chip kelly" going to Florida board, after all, it has 21 pages of NOTHING. trying not to hijack this thread as it has merit and something about the canes that I like to hear. thanks for the post and actually adding something of substance to the board.
 
It’s going to be cold. Not sure if most of the guys on the team have even been in weather that cold before (let alone play in it)
 
Looking at Pitt I noticed several things one is that their defense is pretty good against the run , they are a poorly ranked offense which is 102nd in points for avg 23.9, also their defense is better than their offense but that is not saying much they are 73rd in points against allowing 27.7. Pitt has lost the last two games by under a td which could have easily been two w's so forget their 4 win record they are better than that, they also whooped UVA 31-14 this year which is by far their biggest win of the season and well they have nothing to lose and they likely wont play conservative football so I expect them to go for it on many short yardage situations, try trick plays like they did against VT and most likely they will not kick many fg's especially since they have struggled so badly making them this year.
 
Friday's high is supposed to be 44 and no precipitation. A fast start by the Canes should crush their desire, so hopefully, it's over by the middle of the 3rd quarter.

I could see us coming out slow in the colder weather, even though 40's isnt bad for football, but to me it all depends on which Rosier comes out in the 1st half. If we get Rosier in rhythm early it will be a long day for Pitt. Either way I see us winning by 14+

Teams dont miss FGs against us so they may actually try some.
