You know, the unit that Al himself personally coaches.

Punt return: 88th, 6.59 ypr
Punt return defense: 52nd, 6.93 ypr
KO return: 55th, 21.17 ypr
KO return defense: 114th, 23.53 ypr
Blocked Kicks: tied for 59th, 1 blocked kick
Blocked Kicks allowed: tied for 97rd, 3 blocked kicks
FG %: tied for 49th, 75%

Conclusions: We are awful in a number of areas in special teams. We are ok in several. We excel in none. Our special teams suck. Al sucks.

I don't know if stats are kept on penalties on special teams plays but that seems to be another problem area. We had two on one play. Unreal. The blocking on kickoffs is a joke. Our guys can't make it to the 20. Take a fuggin' knee.

On that block kick the guy that blocked it did the exact same thing Ramsey did. As a special teams coach how do you not fix that

On the bright side, not offering Isaiah McKenzie allowed us to sign Tyler Grimsley.

The one that stands out the most to me. Kick Return Defense. Horrible! That's one thing we have always been known for. Sad man, very sad.

First Kickoff of opening half - off sides penalty which ultimately cost us 15 yards of field position.
First kick off of second half holding penalty put us in crap field position.
Offside/running into the kicker cost us four points.
Blocked kick made it a 10 point swing.

Four bonehead plays which are directly attributable to coaching and poor discipline/.fundamentals. He needs to go now.

The special teams play under Al Golden has been the worst in the history of the school.

The organization on kickoff returns is atrocious and on punt returns nonexistent. Returning punts is a virtual suicide mission.

This is a Program that always had speedsters who ran back kickoff and punt returns for touchdowns.

This is a Program that always blocked punts and field goals numerous times per year.

Tremaine Mack had more results in a few games on special teams than Golden has had in four years.

Why is this acceptable?

Had a chance to go into halftime with the lead against Louisville with a true freshman QB, then we give up a 100 yard kickoff return.

Special teams.
