Lou Saban came to a lowly Miami program and recruited local players, nice change, Howard came from the NFL and brought an NFL offense, nice first championship, JJ came in an had a defense that destroyed the current popular offenses with speed and attacking mode with great LB's and an attacking defense while keeping Howards offense. Dennis came in with a totally new one back offense that frustrated defenses. Then Butch came in and dominated with superior talent (finding unknown great recruits) and advancing our defense and offensive philosophies via knowing real football talent.. Then Coker. ugh...had no clue followed by Randy, Al, and Mark none of whom none had anything new to offer. Than Manny who was making changes brought in Lashlee and was developing a great offense but got fired in favor of Mario. What has Mario brought? What is unique? What did he bring to FIU or Oregon? Miami got their NC's via variety and innovation. Especially JJ who changed the game for college and the NF with speed. We've are not copycats, we have been innovative so can Mario bring something new and creative or try to imitate Bama's success the same as others who by the way, the SEC is figuring out Saban's strategies so copying them is not a path to success. We have been game changers, what are we now? Thoughts on what to expect? My thoughts are not encouraging. It is no secret I thought Manny had us on an upswing.
better than 5-7 plus this years schedule would've been a cake walk for Manny, compare last years schedule versus this years...6-7
8-3
7-5
Helluva “upswing.”
Actually, it's not all that bad of a post. It's a good question. What does Mario bring to the table other than recruiting? What are his teams known for? Thanks for another amazing post

Yogurt, or cheese?Culture, bro!
Mario's 2022 season was nearly identical to Randy Shannon's 2007. Except worse. Both were 5-7. Randy's schedule was harder. Randy had one less 14+ loss than Mario, 4 to 5. Mario had one less close loss than Randy,2 to 3, with that easier schedule. They both inherited 7 win teams. They both struggle with timeouts, and overall game management. They both had QB issues. They both hired putrid OCs. Pat Nix and Gattis. Randy cleaned up recruiting in year one, and it didn't help enough. Mario is on deck, but is known for recruiting.Diaz was in way over his head.
But his 2019 season was not as bad as Cristobal’s 2022 season.
And that should terrify everyone on this board.
The best comparison is to Butch. Butch addressed a change from Erikson’s culture and dedicated to a pro style O w heavy focus on recruiting. It’s year 1. If you credit Butch with recruiting, then give Mario time.Lou Saban came to a lowly Miami program and recruited local players, nice change, Howard came from the NFL and brought an NFL offense, nice first championship, JJ came in an had a defense that destroyed the current popular offenses with speed and attacking mode with great LB's and an attacking defense while keeping Howards offense. Oh I understand, i speak word salad too. Let me see if i can communicate with him: popcorn, squirrel, Lazer tag, peanut butter? If mario does in the off season. MARIO the pizza delivery dude. He's so lost he needs to revamp the whole team. Is there a couple of millionaire that can buy his contract. We are on probation or what. Remember he's an offensive guard. Where is Dennis Erickson if he's still alive due to the
