Lets hope no new dc today or tomorrow.

I did not know January 1 and 2 were hiring dead periods, with Martinez as the only exemption. Will update my calendar.
 
If we hire Martinez to be DC, Richt will lose a lot of faith.

Martinez = Staight up Corch

Dude was basically run out of town in Athens for the **** poor job he did in Athens.
 
I personally hope Richt doesn't hire a DC. I hope he tells the players to draw plays in the dirt and wing it.

Would want to believe that with the budget CMR has been given that he will go after an up and comer or NFL with the option of a proven veteran like a John Chavis (not saying John Chavis) instead of the guy that has been fired, bounced around and is a position coach. He knows how bad this defense is and how critical of a hire it is and for that we should have hope that he gets it right
 
IMO, the DC is already hired, if only by a handshake agreement. Kool wouldn't take this job without knowing who the DC is
 
Don't expect any news till Monday at the earliest, possibly the following Monday...unless the designated coach is otherwise currently occupied. Hope I am wrong. Possibly NFL?
 
i think its a misconception that kool wouldn't of taken job not knowing who the dc is. i think he liked the idea of miami, coach richt is a well respected man in coaching circles. and i think coach kool wants to coach with richt.

now does he probably have an idea who richt is looking at yes. does richt probably already know who his dc is and they are still playing likely. cant wait to find out though. i also want to know who db coach. lb coach, te coach, wr coach are gonna be. oline coach also.

A guy who could certainly have had his pick of openings as a DL coach wouldn't sign up to work for a theory, especially considering this DC is likely going to be empowered beyond what others around the country might be if Richt is going to take his time calling the offense. They all know who it is, and my gut says it will be someone that will make most very happy. I can't say "all" because there are a lot of people who would just prefer to be sad sack mopes.
